## Warlock Patrons ### The Erotes Your patron is one of the Erotes, a nude, winged spirit that flies unseen through mortal realms, striking with arrows of gold and lead, causing true love and heartache to erupt in likely, and unlikely form. Such beings are rarely malicious, though mischief and pranks fill them with delight, whether it be impossible love between two unlikely suitors or the constant chase of one who loves after one who does not. Beings of this sort include Cupid, also known as Eros and from which the other spirits are known, Anteros, the Love Returned, Himeros, the Pressing Desire, Hedylogos, Sweet-talk, and Pothos, the Longing Desire. #### Expanded Spell List The Erotes let you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. ##### Erotes Expanded Spells | Spell Level |Spells | |:--:|:-------------| | 1st | *entangle, healing word* | | 2nd | *blindness/deafness, levitate* | | 3rd | *lightning arrow, slow* | | 4th | *compulsion, confusion* | | 5th | *geas, modify memory* | #### Bonus Proficiencies At 1st level, you gain proficiency with martial ranged weapons. In addition, if you later gain the Pact of the Blade feature, both melee and ranged weapons can be created using that feature. #### Arrows of Love Starting at 1st level, you can fire enchanted ammunition that cause the target struck to fall deeply in love for a short time. When you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack, you can attempt to charm the target. When you do so, the ammunition used disappears and deals no damage. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC, and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. On a failure, the next time the target sees a creature within 10 minutes after it was hit by your attack becomes charmed by that creature for 1 hour. This effect ends immediately if the creature charming the target does anything harmful to it. If the target succeeds on its saving throw, the target has no hint that you tried to charm it. If the creature is of a species and gender the target is normally attracted to, it regards it as its true love while it is charmed. You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your warlock level. You regain any expended uses of this feature when you finish a long rest. \columnbreak #### Heartbreaker At 1st level, you can remotely detonate the love enchantment on your charmed targets, causing a wave of heartbreak and rejection to wash over them. As a bonus action on your turn, choose a creature that you have charmed within 60 feet of you. The creature takes your Charisma modifier + your warlock level (minimum of 1) psychic damage, is no longer charmed and becomes hostile towards the creature it was charmed by. Alternatively, you can use your reaction to use this feature when the charm on the target naturally breaks. #### Flights of Fancy Starting at 6th level, when you take damage, you can use your reaction to sprout wings and move up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space. Until the end of your next turn, you have a flying speed of 60 feet. In addition, you do not provoke opportunity attacks when you fly out of an enemies reach using this feature. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Swathe of Desire At 10th level, you are surrounded by an aura of beauty and desire that can momentarily halt an assailant. Whenever creatures of your choice move within 5 feet of you, or when they start their turn there, must make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. On a failed save, they are charmed by you until the start of their next turn or until they take any damage. A creature that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to this feature for the next 24 hours. #### Arrows of Lead and Gold Beginning at 14th level, you can concentrate the love enchantment on your ammunition into either a sharp, golden arrow of desire, or into a blunt, lead arrow of aversion. When you expend a use of your Arrows of Love feature, you can instead choose to attempt to either turn the target, or impassion the target. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC, and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. On a failure, the next time the target sees a creature within 10 minutes after it was hit by your attack becomes either turned or impassioned by the creature (your choice) for 1 minute, or until it takes any damage. A turned creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from the source of it's aversion as it can, and it can't willingly move to a space within 30 feet of it. It also can't take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there's nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action. An impassioned creature must spend its turns trying to move as close to the source of it's desire as it can, and it can't willingly move to a space further than 30 feet of it. It also can't take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there's nowhere closer to move, the creature can use the Help action. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once). You regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.
