# Roguish Archetype ## Ruffian Most Rogues rely almost entirely on their finesse, but this is not the case for you. A Ruffian doesn't lean so heavily on such things, knowing that the right application of brute force is just as effective, and requires just as much skill. You focus on debilitating your opponents with brutal maneuvers that make you an uncomfortable foe, and you're tougher than the average Rogue. ### Bonus Proficiencies When you choose this Archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in martial weapons, medium armor and shields. ### Violent Tendencies Also at 3rd level, your violent nature influences your social life. You can use make Intimidate (Charisma) checks with your Strength modifier instead. Furthermore, you have advantage on Intimidate checks against those with lower Strength scores than your own. ### Bruiser Starting at 3rd level, you know where to hit to cause the most hurt. You are no longer restricted to using finesse or ranged weapons to make sneak attacks. ### Underhanded Strike At 9th level, the clout of your blows can catch your opponents off-guard. You can use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to force an opponent you are engaged in melee with to make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the target is stunned until the end of their next turn. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Strength modifier (minimum 1). Uses of this ability are regained after a long rest. ### ??? By 13th level, ??? ### Terrifying Foe From 17th level, your brutality in battle has become a truly fearsome sight to behold. Whenever you succeed with the Underhanded Strike feature, or lower an opponent to 0 Hit Points, you can force all enemies that can see you to make a Charisma saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the afflicted gain the Frightened condition for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 of your Strength modifier (rounded down).
