Sacred Oath of Strength

Tenets of Strength

Paladins of this Oath often swear to a deity or being of enormous power. Deities who often represent strength, power, or conflict. But many that take this oath name the only being that they can truly trust as their liege, themselves.

Have Purpose. Strength is born from purpose. And strength serves to complete that purpose. Without purpose, strength is worthless.

Be Steadfast. Do not falter from your path. Follow it until circumstances change, or the task is complete.

Take Pride. Put your full strength behind your actions, your full being into the path you walk.

Give Respect. Strength comes in many forms. Quality, quantity, magic, knowledge, words, authority, and more. You do not have to like or appreciate it. But you must respect it.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity Options.

Divine Strength. As a bonus action, you become imbued with the strength of a divine being. For 10 minutes, for the purposes of pushing, dragging and lifting, as well as the Athletics skill, you can double your strength modifier, and consider yourself gargantuan in size.

Divine Cleave. As a bonus action, your weapon shimmers with an unearthly light. For 1 minute, when you use your Divine Smite, or Improved Divine Smite, you may also cause all enemies in a 15 foot cone in the direction you are facing to make a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 radiant damage for each die you roll for Divine Smite, or Improved Divine Smite.

Combat Aura

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you gain +10 to their walking speed. Additionally, when you or an ally within 10 feet take damage from an attack, you may reduce the total damage by 3.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Inexorable Resistance

At 15th level, when you make a saving, before you roll, you may choose to succeed. When you do so, you take no damage or negative effects. Each time you do this after the first, you gain one point of exertion. 1 minute after the most recent used of inexorable resistance, if you have less levels of exhaustion than you have points of exertion, then your level of exhaustion becomes equal to your current number of points of exertion. As long as you still have points of exertion you cannot decrease the level of exhaustion with anything short of a wish. Your usages and points of exertion reset to 0 after a long rest.

Titan's Strength

At 20th level, you can call upon the pure strength of a being sometimes considered to be stronger than even the gods. The strength of a Titan. During this time you might turn a deep red, or you might be surrounded by a crackling golden aura, or some other awe inspiring effect.

For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • The die used for Divine Smite and Improved Divine Smite becomes a d12, instead of a d8.
  • The die used for Divine Cleave becomes a d6, instead of a d4.
  • Once Per turn, during Titan's Strength, if you deal damage with a weapon to a creature, you deal additional weapon damage equal to your Strength ability score.

Once you have used this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
