Prizefighter

Version 1.0, by /u/TestingTheStrongOnes

Everyone enters the fight for their own reasons. A prizefighter puts their life and reputation on the line every time they enter the ring. You're often still recovering from the bruises and cuts from your last fight.

You might be a member of a fighting club, school, or faction. It's also possible that you learned your skills on your own, on the streets, or from a single mentor. What brings you to the fighting ring? Are you a willing participant or is fighting the only way you know to make a living?

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two of Acrobatics, Athletics, Medicine, or Intimidation

Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set, Herbalism Kit

Equipment: A inexpensive but unusual weapon or a musical instrument (one of your choice), a gaming set, the favor of an admirer (love letter, lock of hair, or trinket), and a pouch containing 15 gp

Feature: The Loud and Boisterous Type

Your fighting style tends to be on the flashy and showy side, opting for big moves that get the crowd roaring.

When in a city with a fighting ring or club, inns and taverns are honored to have someone of your talents at their table. As long as you don't cause a scene and entertain the crowd with your stories (and maybe some friendly competitions), you are able to live a modest lifestyle without having to pay 1gp a day for it. You may not maintain a less affluent lifestyle and use the difference as income—the benefit is a line of credit, not an actual monetary reward.

Variant Feature: The Strong and Silent Type

Your fighting style is more bite than bark. You keep an air of mystery about you, wordlessly defeating your foes. Your visage gives off the aura of danger and mystique.

When in a tavern or inn with a fighting ring or club, if you desire, you are able to keep to yourself and no one will bother you. You and any companions can enjoy meals and drinks in peace without having to worry about being interrupted or overheard.

Suggested Characteristics

Everyone enters the ring for their own reasons: you might be fighting as a way to survive, or because you want to make a name for yourself. You might have a patron that pays for your training or you fighting might be your main source of income. Regardless, determine what your reasoning for fighting is, then determine what kind of personality would aid in your goals.
