## Warlock Archetype ### The Sha'ir Sha'ir are a unique type of wizard who cannot memorize spells or use a spellbook. Instead they draw upon the magic of genies in order to cast their spells. Through a special relationship with a genie, they could draw magic directly from the elemental planes and beyond. #### Expanded Spell List Your genie lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. ##### Sha'ir Extended Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:----:|:-------------| |1st | Chromatic Orb, Absorb Elements |2nd |Aganazzar's Scorcher, Snilloc's Snowball Swarm |3rd |Erupting Earth, Fireball |4th |Control Winds, Watery Sphere |5h |Wall of Stone, Cone of Cold #### Bonus Language You know how to speak Primordial and all of its dialects. #### Call Spell Starting at 1st level, you can call upon your genie to fetch you a spell from the planes. As a bonus action, choose a spell from the Warlock or Sorcerer spell list you don't already know, has a casting time of an action, and that you have spell slots for. For the next minute you can cast this spell using a warlock spell slot, but only once. You regain use of this feature at the end of a short or long rest. You can make a special request for your genie to pull a spell from another classes spell list. Doing so is risky however. If you use this feature to choose a spell that isn't on the Sorcerer or Warlock spell list, you must roll a 1d20. On a 1, the genie accidentally draws the attention from an extraplanar being while retrieving the spell. A creature of a CR no higher than twice the level of the spell and of the DMs discretion appears in a random space within 30 ft of you. The creature is angered though the DM determines whether or not it is immediately hostile. The extraplanar being stays for one minute or until it drops to 0 hit point, at which point it is brought back to its original plane. Regardless of whether or not a creature is summoned, if you use this feature in this way, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest. #### Protection of the Elements Starting at 6th level, the elements protect you. At the end of a short rest, you can create a protective shield that deflects elemental damage you take. This shield has a number of hit points equal to twice your Warlock level. Whenever you take acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage, it instead damages the shield first. If this damage reduces the shield to 0 hit points, you take any remaining damage and the shield disappears. \columnbreak #### Summon the Elements Beginning at 10th level, you can call upon an elemental to aid you. You can cast Conjure Elemental once without expending a spell slot. You regain use of this feature after a long rest. #### Call Genie Beginning at 14th level, you can use your Summon the Elements feature twice before having to finish a long rest. In addition, you can request audience with a genie. As part of a 10 minute ritual, you call out the the genie, requesting its assistance. If the genie is willing, it appears in a space within 60 feet of you. It may not always be friendly. The genie may be convinced to help but only if it is successfully threatened, bribed, or otherwise convinced to aid you. If a creature attacks the genie, it attacks both the attacking creature and you and your allies, regardless of whether or not you had anything to do with the attack. If the genie is displeased, you may not be able to summon it again unless you make reparations. You can only summon a genie this way once per long rest. ### Invocations #### Elemental Control *Prerequisites: the Sha'ir, Pact of the Tome* The following cantrips are added to your Book of Shadows: Mold Earth, Produce Flame, Gust, and Shape Water. #### Elemental Blade *Prerequisites: the Sha'ir, Pact of the Blade, 5th level* Whenever you conjure your pact blade, you can choose for it to deal one of the following damage types instead of its normal damage: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. In addition, either when you summon your pact blade or as an action on your turn, you can spend a warlock spell slot to cast Elemental Weapon on your pact weapon. When you cast the spell this way, you do not have to maintain concentration on it. #### Summon Gen *Prerequisites: The Sha'ir, Pact of the Chain, 5th level* Whenever you summon your Pact of the Chain familiar, you can summon a gen. This can be any elemental of CR 1/4th to CR 1. Alternatively, you can choose another valid familiar for your Pact of the Chain. When you do so, its creature type turns to elemental and it gains resistance to one of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. #### Elemental Blast *Prerequisites: eldritch blast cantrip* Choose one of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. Whenever you cast *eldritch blast*, you can choose for it to deal that damage type instead of force damage. At the end of a long rest, you can change this damage type to another on the list. In addition, you can target both objects and creatures with your cantrip.
