The Outsider

The Outsider - the ancient, unknown God of Balance and Magic - has a marked interest in you, and has gifted you with a portion of his power. Fickle in nature, his patronage is both a boon and a curse as you are more susceptible to Fate. He has plans for you, and will occasionally meddle in your affairs to push you towards his goals. This enigmatic and powerful entity speaks to you in your dreams, prodding and leading you to discover secrets that may shake the world at it's roots.

Expanded Spell List

The Outsider lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Mark of the Outsider

The Outsider has chosen you, giving you his Mark somewhere on your upper body. When creating a Warlock with the Outsider Patron, you may also choose Investigation as one of your two proficient skills.

Outsider's Influence

Starting at 1st level, when you cast a spell of a 1st level slot or higher or use an Invocation, you may choose to draw on more arcane energy than than explicitly necessary. Doing so would cause your spell to have an additional effect as determined by the Outsider's Wild Magic Table.

Fate's Fortune

Starting at 6th level, you may reroll a D20 but must take the new result. You may do this up to half your Warlock level rounded down per long rest.

Favor of the Outsider

Starting at 10th level, you have a 40% chance to not use up a spell slot while casting. Roll percentile dice. If the result is 40 or below, you do not expend a spell slot. If this happens, you must roll on the Outsider's Wild Magic Table.

 

Outsider's Sanctuary

Starting at 14th level, during combat you may enter the Outsider’s Sanctuary, a pocket dimension where time moves much slower than the material plane. You may stay there for one to four hours, each hour being the equivalent of one round in the material plane. You may enter as a reaction, and leaving counts as a move action on your turn. You may use this ability once per long rest.

Outsider Wild Magic Table

d100 Effect
01-02 Spell DC and attack bonus temporarily increases by 2 until next short or long rest.
03-04 Caster compulsively apologizes to anyone they harm for 1 minute.
05-06 Caster's spell also affects them with Spell DC 15.
07-08 1d4 gold carried by caster turns to platinum.
09-10 Caster and target instantly trade places.
11-12 This spell's duration or damage is halved.
13-14 Caster is now affected by Enhance Ability (1d6 to determine result)
15-16 Caster speaks unintelligibly for 1d4 rounds.
17-18 Caster's AC is reduced by 1d4 for 1d4 rounds.
19-20 A Scroll of (Chromatic Orb, Fireball, or Magic Missile) appears in Caster's mouth.
21-22 Caster's voice emanates from Caster's feet instead for 1d4 hours.
23-24 Caster's skin glows as if by Daylight for 1 minute.
25-26 Caster heals for 1d4 + CHA for each cantrip or spell they cast for 1d4 rounds.
27-28 Caster turn into a bowl of petunias for 1d4 rounds, and have an intense feeling of déjà vu.
29-30 Caster is Silenced (DC15) until someone says Caster's name or asks Caster a direct question.
31-32 Caster's Spell slots are refreshed.
33-34 Caster Polymorphs as spell into the form of the next being Caster hears speak.
35-36 Spell DC and attack bonus temporarily reduced by 2 until next short or long rest.
37-38 Magic Missile at 2nd level is cast on last source of damage to the caster.
39-40 Caster giggles whenever someone speaks for 10 minutes.
41-42 Caster becomes Petrified for 1d4 rounds.
43-44 A Magic item worth less than 100 gold materializes and impacts Caster's head.
45-46 n article of clothing worn by Caster becomes invisible for 1d4 rounds.
47-48 Caster is afraid to speak for 1d4 hours (DC15 WIS to speak).
49-50 Target of Spell is also knocked prone.

51-52 Caster imitates Emperor Palpatine while casting spells for 1 minute.
53-54 Casters hands are burned for 1d4 times spell level.
55-56 1d4 times 10 Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum (1d4) fall from the sky or ceiling.
57-58 A nearby nonsentient creature attempts to nest in the caster's clothing.
59-60 Target becomes Enraged as if a Barbarian.
61-62 The next spell or missile that targets the Caster instead becomes a cloud of butterflies.
63-64 A cloud of rose petals appears around target.
65-66 Stinking Cloud as spell is cast centered on caster and lasts for 1 round.
67-68 A Fireball is also cast at nearest enemy of caster.
69-70 Nearest NPC humanoid of opposite sex attempts to seduce Caster. (DC13 Wisdom to resist effect)
71-72 This spell's duration or damage is halved.
73-74 Hallow -- Daylight is cast, centered on caster with 1d4 sq. radius.
75-76 Nearest copse of trees bursts into song that all within 60ft can hear and understand.
77-78 Caster's hands and feet are encased in blocks of ice. One action to break free.
79-80 A random stat lower than 1d4 + 10 is raised by 1.
81-82 Caster shouts dad jokes while casting spells for 1d4 rounds.
83-84 Caster falls unconscious and slumps to the ground with a nosebleed.
85-86 Caster's spell gains an additional damage die.
87-88 Caster Polymorphs as spell into the opposite sex.
89-90 Caster takes 1d4 lightning damage when casting spells for 1 minute.
91-92 Roll on this table again, ignoring this and the below result. (No effect)
93-94 Roll on this table twice more, ignoring this and the above result. (No effect)
95-96 DM picks result.
97-98 DM picks result.
99-00 DM picks result.
