Otherworldly Patron

At 1st level, a warlock gains the Otherworldly Patron feature. Here is a new option for that feature: the Mummy Lord.

The Mummy Lord

Deep beneath sand and dust, hidden in ancient crypts, the mummified bodies of kings, queens, and high priests lie sealed away, kept in the realm of the living eternally by profane rituals. You have made a pact with one such entity, mayhaps to catch but a glimpse at the tomes filled with timeless knowledge that have been sealed away alongside your patron, or to barter your way out of certain death for transgressing into their domain. No matter the details of the deal you have made, you have now become an agent of your patron's will, extending it far beyond the confines of their tomb.

Desert Shroud

At 1st level, your patron gifts you with the ability to conjure up a shroud of sand and dust. Whenever you expend a warlock spell slot, you can choose to create a 10-foot radius sphere of whirling sands centered on yourself. The sphere lasts for 1 minute and moves with you, remaining centered on you. You can dismiss it at any time using a bonus action.

You are lightly obscured to any creature beyond the sphere's radius, and the sphere's space is difficult terrain for creatures other than you.

Credits

Whenever a nonmagical projectile moves through the sphere's space, you can use your reaction to reduce any damage caused by the projectile by 1d4 + your Charisma modifier. This die changes when you reach certain levels in this class. The die becomes a d6 at 5th level, a d8 at 10th level, a d10 at 15th level, and a d12 at 20th level.

Unholy Defiance

At 6th level, the unholy powers that keep your patron in the realm of the living start to extend to you as well. You have advantage on death saving throws, and if you die, your corpse and remains are protected from decay. Also, spells that restore you to life, such as raise dead, ignore the time you have spent dead.

Rising Storm

At 10th level, your patron teaches you greater mastery over the sands. All creatures inside the sphere created by your Desert Shroud feature are now lightly obscured to any creature beyond the sphere's radius.

Additionally, you can now use your Desert Shroud feature to reduce the damage of any melee weapon attack targeting a creature within the sphere's space the same way you would reduce the damage of a projectile.

Grasp of the Crypt

Starting at 14th level, you can create an entryway to your patron's domain. As an action, you can cover a 20-foot square on ground that you can see within 120 feet of you with sand. For 10 minutes, or until your concentration is broken (as if you were concentrating on a spell), the area is difficult terrain, and any hostile creature that enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there has to make a Strength saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. On a failure, mummified hands drag the creature beneath the surface into an extradimensional space filled entirely with sand. Any creature in there takes 6d6 bludgeoning damage at the start of its turn, and it is blinded, restrained, and starts to suffocate. A restrained creature can use its action to make a Strength check against your warlock spell save DC. On a success, it is ejected to the space it had previously occupied.

When the effect ends, the extradimensional space disappears, and all creatures within it are also ejected to the space they had previously occupied.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
