Way of the Self
Some Monks train for years to be able to punch a tree in half, other train to hide in the shadows or wield the power of the elements. However, others prefer to study themselves, and what their place it. They know themselves in and out, they know all their limitations, and can even create more versions of themselves that look identical.
Create Clone
At 3rd level on your turn you can spend 1 ki point to use a bonus action to create a clone that looks identical to you. It appears in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of you. When you make a unarmed attack, you can forgo any of your attacks to allow one of your clones to use its reaction to make one unarmed attack. The clones cannot take opportunity attacks, actions or bonus actions, but they can move on your turn. The clones have hit points equal to double your Monk level, but they have the same ability scores, proficiencies and AC as you do, ït posseses all of your class and racial featuires, but can't activate any that uses resources or needs a short or long rest to recharge. They do not have any items on them, except for the same clothing as you are wearing. The clones last for 1 minute or until they reach 0 hit points.
You can only have a number of clones active at a time. The number is equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) and if you create more than that, the oldest one disappears.
Tricks with Duplicates
When you reach 6th level you have mastered to not only create clones of yourself but also to manipulate them and yourself to create advantageous moment for yourself. You can do the following things:
-
Clone Switch. When you are hit with an attack, you can use a reaction to spend 1 ki point and switch position with one of your clones that are within 30 feet of you, the clone then takes the damage from the attack instead of you.
-
Group Strike. If a creature gets hit three times from different versions of you (counting you and your clones) on your turn, you can force the creature to make a Strength saving throw, the creature is knocked prone on a failed Saving Throw.
Reinforcements
At 11th level you have learned to create versions of yourself in the split of a second. You can use an action to create 3 clones, they can appear in unoccupied places that are within 60 feet of you that you can see.
You must short or finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
Wholeness of Selves
Beginning at 17th level you are so attuned with yourself that you can now create more durable and stable clones. Your clones created from your "Create Clone" or "Reinforcements" feature now lasts for 1 hour, and they have hit points equal to three times your Monk level.
Additionally, you know and can cast the spell "Simulacrum" targeting yourself, you can only have one active simulacrum made from this feature. When you do so, you must finish a long rest before you can do it again. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for the spell.
