Monastic Tradition:
The Way of Dreams
Lurking in the spaces between worlds, the Realm of Dreams connects all living creatures to a wellspring of emotion and possibility. The monks of the Way of Dreams have learned to shape this dreamstuff through subtle dance and martial art. At its most pure, this tradition seeks to understand the flow of the mind's constructs. At their most dangerous, these traditions empower their users to manipulate and strike at the heart of a creature's psyche.
In Eberron, the kalasthar and humans of Adar seek to use this power to preserve their way of life, despite many of them being unable to access the dreamscape themselves. Monks aligned with the Inspired of Riedra more freely exploit the power of Dal Quor to subjugate and destroy.
Dance of the Eidolon
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you have learned to use your ki to manipulate the dreamscape of other people. With each element of your martial dance, you construct and strike at an eidolon of your target's emotions. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that creature:
- Eidolon of Empathy: It must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or suffer disadvantage on attack rolls until the end of your next turn.
- Eidolon of Anxiety: It must succeed on an Wisdom saving throw or suffer disadvantage on saving throws until the end of the your next turn.
Dreamstrike
Also starting at 3rd level, whenever you make an attack with your unarmed strike or a monk weapon, you may choose for your attack to deal psychic damage instead of its usual damage type.
Heart of the Eidolon
At 6th level, you learn to shape the dreamscape to strike at more foundational emotions. When you hit a creature with an attack using your unarmed strike or a monk weapon, you may spend 2 ki points to impose one of the following effects on that creature:
- Eidolon of Love: It must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or become charmed by you for one minute. The effect ends if you cause the target any harm.
- Eidolon of Terror: It must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for one minute. The target may attempt a new saving throw at the end of each of its turns. On a success, the effect ends.
Dreamstrider
At 11th level, you have learned to wander the dreamscape to influence the dreams of others. You can spend 4 ki points to cast the spell dream without requiring material components. The saving throw DC is equal to your ki saving throw DC.
Plight of the Eidolon
Starting at 17th level, you have learned to manifest existential eidolons. When you hit a creature with an attack using your unarmed strike or a monk weapon, you may use your bonus action and spend 5 ki points to impose one of the following effects on that creature.
- Eidolon of Euphoria: The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become overcome with euphoria. A euphoric creature immediately moves up to 30 feet towards its nearest ally, falls prone, and is incapacitated until the end of its next turn. If no ally is within sight, the creature moves 30 feet in a random direction.
- Eidolon of Isolation: The creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or become blinded and deafened for one minute. The creature may attempt a new saving throw to end the effect at the end of each of its turns. When the effect ends, the creature takes 6d10 psychic damage.
