### School of Chromatics
Chromatic wizards see the world as their ever-changing color palette. Emotions are just manifestations of a creature's soul changing color and portals to other dimensions are just the smears between two paintings to them. They yearn to study our world through the color spectrum, using a special school of the arcane known only to them: Chromatomancy.

Some chromatics grow to be world renowned artists who cherish in their success, but some turn to mischief, becoming tricksters who mess with the emotions and feelings of others.

#### Lore of Colors
Starting at 2nd level, when you reach certain levels in the class, your experiments with the chromatic side of the arcane help you understand your spells better.

When you find a spell that deals cold, fire, lightning or poison damage, those spells count as spells from the school of Chromatomancy. You may write down your Chromatomancy spells into your spellbook taking half the material cost as it normally would. These spells count as wizard spells for you.

At 6th acid, at 10th necrotic and at 14th level radiant damage dealing spells become Chromatomancy spells for you.

#### Marvelous Paintbrush
Additionally, at 2nd level you conjure a magical paintbrush that helps you shape the world as you please.

You gain the ability to transform any object's color and pattern as you wish. For each 10 minutes you spend shifting its coloration, you can transform up to 1 square foot of material. Your handiwork slowly fades on non-living material after a day and on living material after an hour has passed.

A creature can ascertain that the target has been altered with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your Spell Save DC.

Additionally, you may use this brush to copy Chromatomancy spells into your spellbook, thus taking only 10 minutes to copy each.

You may use this paintbrush as your spellcasting focus.

> Your DM may rule that you need to succeed on a Charisma (Performance) check with a varying DC to complete your arcane work. While painting your party member pink may not require a skill check, camouflaging one might cause more of a a challenge.
 
<tab>If you are just painting a pretty picture on the city wall, that may not require a check, but if you are trying to hide the entrance of a cave your party is staying in, you are more likely to be asked for a check.

#### Pigment of Gebleoth
At 6th level, you discover that you can transform the arcane based on its colors. With this knowledge you can alter the color of your spells, thus changing their element.

When you cast a Chromatomancy spell with a spell slot you can substitute the damage type with one other from the list of damage types detailed in Lore of Colors.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1). You regain all uses of this feature after you finish a long rest.

#### Eyes of the Rainbow
By 10th level, your eyes become imbued with the magic of the color spectrum. You take in the colors of everything around you, even in pitch black conditions.

You gain a special kind of darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. When in dim light you see everything in its original color, and in darkness you see everything in muted, grayish tone.

If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet and gains the effect mentioned above.

#### Syphon Chroma
At 10th level, you can syphon the color out of an area to fuel your arcane powers.

As an action on your turn you can drain the color out of a 15-foot cone in front of you. All nonmagical objects in the area are drained of their color becoming monochromatic or shades of grey. Enemies in the area must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be blinded. A blinded creature can repeat the save at the end of each of their turns.

You regain spell slots of a combined level equal to the number of creatures that failed the save.

You regain the use of this ability after you finish a short or long rest.

#### Gaudy Explosion
When you reach 14th level, you master the elements of color.

As an action on your turn, you can force the color out of your physical form. Roll 1d6 times on the Chromatic Spectrum table shown below, rerolling any duplicates. All enemies within a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on you, must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, each creature takes full damage or half as much on a successful one.

Additionally, you may spend one use of Pigment of Gebleoth to Saturate one of the unleashed colors, giving it an extra effect. Enemies who succeed on the initial saving throw are not affected by the Saturated effect of the explosion. You must declare which explosion you want to Saturate before rolling for the color.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
