Way of the Coiled Dragon

Monks who take up this tradition believe that
perfection of self begins with perfection of one's
body. This perfection is only believed to be achieved
once the body has become wholly compliant, which
requires training intense enough to kill those weak of
spirit and will. Practitioners of this art learn techniques
that push their bodies far beyond their normal
limits and at the peak of their power, influence
the world around them to embody their way.

Elastic Potential Energy

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level,
your body becomes like rubber, capable of
absorbing and storing energy for later use.
Whenever you critically hit with an unarmed
strike or take bludgeoning damage, you gain
2 special temporary ki points. You can only use these
ki points to fuel your Coiled Dragon Techniques, and they
last for 1 minute before disappearing.

Extensive Self

Also starting at 3rd level, you can stretch your body beyond normal means. The reach of your unarmed strikes is 5 feet greater than normal, you can interact with objects normally at that that distance, and your jump distance is increased by an amount equal to your unarmored movement bonus. Additionally, you learn the following Coiled Dragon Techniques:

Press the Attack. When you take the Attack action, you can double the reach of your unarmed strikes until the end of this turn. Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike this turn, you can pull yourself up to 20 feet towards the enemy.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 ki point to use this feature again.

Double-barreled Cannon. You stretch your arms back to their limit, and then contract them, striking out in one fluid motion. You can spend 2 ki points to make a single unarmed strike against an opponent within reach as an action. If this attack hits, the target takes additional damage equal to three rolls of your martial arts die (+ 3d4 if you are using Muscle Expansion), and the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 20 feet away. If the creature collides with another creature or stationary object, each takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and immediately falls prone in the space where they collided.

Muscle Expansion

At 6th level, you become capable of ballooning the muscles in your body for a short period. You can spend 2 ki to enter this state as a bonus action. For the next minute, you are enlarged, as per the enlarge/reduce spell. While enlarged, some of your techniques deal additional damage.

After 1 minute has passed you must spend 1 additional ki point or be reduced for 1 minute, as per the enlarge/reduce spell. While reduced, you are unable to use, or benefit from, features granted by this tradition.

Vulcanization

Also at 6th level, you learn the following Coiled Dragon Techniques:

Kong Hammer. As an action, you can spend 2 ki and slam both of your massive arms into a surface, crushing any occupants into the resulting rubble. Choose a point within 5 feet of you, each creature within 5 feet of that point (besides yourself) must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes bludgeoning damage equal to four rolls of your martial arts die (+ 4d4 if you are using Muscle Expansion) and is knocked prone. On a success, a creature takes half as much damage is not knocked prone. Any object or structure in the area automatically takes maximized damage from this technique.

Storm of Blows. Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 2 ki to swing your fists wildly as a bonus action. Each creature in a 15-foot-cone originating from you must make a Dexterity saving throw as they are pummeled with your unarmed strikes. A creature takes 2d10 bludgeoning damage (+ 2d4 if you are using Muscle Expansion), or half as much on a success.

You can spend additional ki points to increase the damage of this technique. Each additional ki point you spend increases the bludgeoning damage dealt by 1d10. The maximum number of ki points (2 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the technique equals half your monk level.

Unbreakable

Beginning at 11th level, blunt forces begin to bounce right off of you. You gain resistance to bludgeoning damage.

Additionally, utilizing your Deflect Missiles feature, you can catch or deflect missiles that deal bludgeoning damage using your body instead of your hands, allowing you to catch objects up to half your current size. When you make a ranged attack with the missile as part of the same reaction, you can use the same range as when it attacked you.

Stretch Goal

At 17th level, you master the final Coiled Dragon Technique.

Bounce World. As an action, you can cause the world within 1 mile of you when this technique is used to magically become elastic for the next hour. Within the area, all objects have resistance to bludgeoning damage, the jump distance of friendly creatures triples, and their fall damage is reduced to 0. Additionally, while in the area, your strikes ricochet off the environment, granting you advantage on any unarmed strikes you make. Once you use this technique, you can not do so again until you have finished a long rest.
