Blood Elves
Blood elves are descendants of High Elves, who have developed a lust for furthering the study hematologic arcana. Out cast by the High Elven community, they sought to the Gods for help. None, of the Lawful gods would accept them into their realm, and the Chaotic gods deemed them too weak to be accepted in theirs, they turned to a queen in the Plane of Shadow.
Nera, named at the time, accepted them into her arms, but demanded no worship. Instead, only asked that they help her destroy Nerull, the God of Death, so that she can lay claim to this Plane. The Blood Elves accepted, and Nera created a city for the elves. The Blood Elves worked tirelessly creating workshops and apothecaries in the newly claimed Vilora Althel. There, they continued their exploration within hematologic arcana.
When Nera called for their aid, the denizens of Vilora Althel called to arms. Thousands of Vengeance Paladins, Life, Death and Blood Clerics, Shadow Rogues, Warlocks and Necromancers lined up for battle.
After the war, in which Nera has destroyed Nerull, losing her body and being given the choice of becoming the Goddess of Death, she gave the elves a permanent home in her realm, and aided them in passage to the other Material Planes, as well as offering any insight into the arcana in which they studied. Still keeping to her bargain, she never demanded that the Elves worship her or accept her as their one true Goddess, however the Clerics and Paladins set up an Order in her honor.
Blood elves are generally between 5 and 6 feet tall, with their build ranging from thin to a human average build. Those who train in martial combat at generally an average build, while those who devote themselves to the arcane arts are more frail. Their skin tones do range from the whiteness of a Snow-Elf to a very light tan. The common hair colors found amongst them are blonde, black and white. While they appear to have eyes similar to other elves, due to their home being within the Plane of Shadow and experimentation within the hematology arcane, they've began to develop a glaze over their entire eyes. This glaze mimics that of cataracts, and not being entirely opaque, this glaze seems to mimic the different colors you'd find on the iris. These can range from nearly any color in a rainbow, but are commonly red, purple, white, green and blue. Their ears still keep true to their High Elf heritage.
With their High Elven blood still coursing through their veins, Blood Elves are very proud of their heritage, and very fond of material items. Entering a home of a Blood Elf, the decor of their house is generally up to par with the latest trends and decorated with the finest of materials.
