Glacial Stalker

A glacial stalker is similar in body structure to a wyvern, with various cat-like features. Its body is mostly covered with icy white plates and spikes along its neck, spine, and tail. Its face features two massive, curved tusks of an amber coloration. Its forelegs are longer and more powerful than its back legs, with deadly spikes along its wings, as well as three large claws, which can easily slice through armour.

While it has wings, they are unable to support its weight, and instead allow the glacial stalker to easily leap across the battlefield, allowing it to chase even the fastest of foes.

During battle, a glacial stalker will single out the weakest foe and attack it relentlessly until it falls. Due to its intense speed, and its ability to dart out of harm's way, keeping it pinned down is almost impossible. When it kills the weakest link, it will often retreat to a safe distance, only to leap back into the fight moments later, having selected a new target to hunt. This one-track mind makes a glacial stalker easy to predict, as it can easily be baited and trapped if adventurers are aware of this fighting pattern.

Ice Climb. The glacial stalker can climb difficult surfaces made of ice, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Keen Smell. The glacial stalker has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Nimble Hunter. The glacial stalker has advantage on initiative rolls, and can take the Dash or Disengage action as a bonus action on each of its turns.

Tundra Advantage. The glacial stalker has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks it makes in icy or snowy conditions, and difficult terrain composed of ice or snow doesn't cost it extra movement.

Actions

Multiattack. The glacial stalker makes four attacks: one with its bite, two with its claw, and one with its tail.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d12 + 5) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) cold damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 17 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 30 feet directly away from the glacial stalker and be knocked prone.

Reactions

Apex Predator (Recharge 5-6). The glacial stalker can fly into a rage when a creature damages it. The glacial stalker moves up to its speed toward the creature and uses its Multiattack against it. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
