# Monk: Way of Mrs. Cosmopilite ## Monastic Tradition At 3rd level, a monk gains the Monastic Tradition feature. The following option is available to the monk, in addition to those offered in the *Player's Handbook* ### Way of Mrs. Cosmopilite The Way of Mrs. Cosmopilite is founded on a collection of cryptic phrases and sacred koans passed down from the masters. Through deep meditation on these words, followers of this Way learn the truths of the universe. Those not initiated in this tradition often mistake the teachings of the Way for meaningless idioms, unaware of the deep wisdom contained within. ##### Way of Mrs. Cosmopilite Features | Monk Level | Feature | |:---:|:-----------:| | 3rd | A Little Soap and Water Never Killed Anyone | | 6th | Oo, You Are So Sharp You'll Cut Yourself One of These Days | | 11th | I Haven't Got All Day, You Know | | 17th | If You Don't Stop Crying I'll Give You Something To Cry About | ### A Little Soap and Water Never Killed Anyone When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn that the secrets of the universe are contained in everyday objects. You gain the following benefits. **Rule One.** You gain proficiency in the Persuasion or Deception skill (your choice), if you don't already have it. You also gain proficiency in one set of artisan's tools of your choice. You add double your proficiency modifier to any ability checks you make using these tools. **Rule Two.** You gain proficiency in improvised weapons, and you can use your artisan's tools as improvised weapons. Artisan's tools are monk weapons for you. **Rule Three.** When a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack against you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature with your artisan's tools. ### Oo, you are so sharp you'll cut yourself one of these days At 6th level, your studies of the words of the masters grant you the following benefits. **If You Keep Goin' All Cosmic On Me....** Your attacks with your artisan's tools count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. **...You'll Feel the End of My Broom and No Mistake.** When you hit a creature with your artisan's tools, you can spend one ki point to cause the tools to deal extra damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns. ### I Haven't Got All Day, You Know At 11th level, you learn some of the secrets of time. You can gain the benefits of a short rest by meditating for five minutes. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. ### If You Don't Stop Crying I'll Give You Something To Cry About Starting at 17th level, when you hit a creature with your artisan's tools, you can spend 2 ki points to force the target to succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you for one minute. ## Artisan's Tools The following option is available for characters with proficiency in artisan's tools, as desribed in *Xanathar's Guide to Everything* #### Cleaning Supplies Cleaning supplies enable a character to sweep, polish, shine, and wash items and areas. **Components.** Cleaning supplies include a broom, a brush, a dustpan, rags, and a bucket. **Perception, Investigation.** Your experience cleaning aids you in spotting footprints, scuff marks, dirt, and other signs of creatures' presence. **Deception.** You can use your appearance to convince others you are a servant or other hired help, **Deep Clean.** Over the course of 10 minutes, you can clean an area no larger than 30 feet on a side, removing any dirt, footprints, blood, or other nonmagical traces of creatures' presence in the area. ##### Cleaning Supplies | Activity | DC | |:---:|:-----------:| | Polish an object | 10 | | Remove a stain | 15 | | Make a room spotless | 20 |
