### # The Treasury's Wrath ###
# You are the Ancient's Treasury, an elite group of underworld operatives whose sole goal is to find and collect ancient artifacts of untold power. The Ancient's Treasury is one of the many organizations that ties their origin to before the age of man. Some speculate that the organization is from the age of ataraxia, but others say that it is from the age of the gods. Only whispers in the dark believe that the Ancient's Treasury draws it's ties to the age of the umbrafell, the age of darkness and chaos. But who really knows the answer to this conundrum? ## The Task You all have been tasked to infiltrate and liberate an artifact that is in the possession of Lord and Lady Nephrasil, a noble couple who are known to collect religious and magical artifacts. Your target is called the Horn of Pharuma, a jeweled horn that is said to be related to the age of the umbrafell. Now, normally their compound is nigh impenetrable with their heavily armed and expertly trained guards, however you have gotten some important information. In 1 months time the Nephrasil's will be holding an invite only masquerade ball and auction, they will be auctioning off some of their oldest artifacts. The reason behind the Nephrasil's holding the auction is unknown however. If you can, find out why the Nephrasil's are holding this auction, this information might help further the Treasury's goals. ## Your Preparation During the month of preparation you all had much to do. You now know that although the Nephrasil estate normally has 250 guards, in order to look more welcoming they are dropping the amount of guards to 175. You have also gotten a list of the goods being auctioned, the Horn of Pharuma is not one of them unfortunately. You have also gotten a list of attendees, and unfortunately for you all it is in your best interest if you do not antagonize them. For even the Treasury might not be able to protect you from their backers.
It is 3 days before the big event, and you have yet to get invitations, you are beginning to worry about the deadline. You are currently tracking a halfing named Bartholomus Burdoch the 3rd, who apparently has some vital information on the Nephrasil's auction and more importantly invitations, he is likely to be armed and dangerous, so you might have to *coax* the information out of him. ## The Nephrasil's Lord and Lady Neprasil A.K.A Meltaph and Marzanna Nephrasil are noble drow who have long since left the Underdark in favour of the City of Calocles. Meltaph is known as a master craftsman specializing in fine jewelry, and Marzanna is rumoured to have begun dabbling in the mystic arts. The lord and lady will most likely have 10-15 guards each, so it is imperative that they don't find out the plan. \columnbreak ## The Nephrasil Compound The Nephrasil Compound is a architectural masterpiece made by the Master Architect Valorin Asoria. Master Asoria is well known amongst the populace of Calocles for his craft, he is the foremast fortress craftsman, as well as the designer of magnificent mansions and castles. The Nephrasil Compound was made many years ago and unfortunately the official floor plans and blueprints were lost when Master Asoria was murder over 10 years ago. No one knows why Master Asoria was murdered, but people believe that it must be in relation to one of his many masterpieces.
The compound itself is just over 2 miles squared, with the main building being located in the center. The main building is a little over 3,700,000 ft. squared being 2,650 x 1,500 ft. and it is 3 stories tall at approxiately 45 meters in height. That said, that means the area that must be searched is upwards of 10,000,000 squared feet. Little is written about the building itself mind you, but there are rumours that there are many passage ways lost to time. These "*secret*" passages should be investigated. It may make your entry and exit easier. ## Other Players Of all the guests that may or may not decide to participate in the Nephrasil's auction ***THESE*** are the ones you need to watch out for the most. Make no mistake, although the Treasury is nigh unstoppable, there are forces in this world that even the treasury begrudgingly bows its head for. ### Lady Belladonna Myriad First you must watch out for the Mistress of Torture, Lady Belladonna Myriad. The lady is backed by the 5 Houses of Myriath, the familial superpower of the Viridian Seas. Known for her sadistic tendancies as well as her love of jewels and anything coloured crimson. Forget about her backing, she alone is a force to be reckoned with. Regardless, she will most likely be moving with 3-5 guards stationed around her vicinity, but there may be more. \pagebreak ### Samael Kindred & Solomon Ellekandar Following Lady Myriad there is Samael Kindred, he is right hand man of Solomon Ellekandar. A large goliath of a man, Samael is known to hold Solomon's interests above all else. However it is known that Samael can be quick to anger, especially after imbibing alcohol, or when he sees signs of child abuse. Samael was a born on the streets of a far off city, and as such he can still be keen and cunning despite his large frame. Samael will most likely be travelling with 1-3 guards, but to be honest his skill when it comes to protecting himself is larger than his confidence in protecting himself. Solomon has taught him well.
And regarding Solomon himself? If he does decide to grace the Nephrasil's with his presence, don't be fooled by his benevolent and kind demeanor, for he is the called the Sea's Embrace and the Lord of the Depths for a reason. He is the foremost arms dealer and shipping magnate of the seas of illaria. If you get on his bad side? Well, even if the whole world was with you, you would still not know how you died. Be that as it may, if Solomon himself decides to show up, Samael will be part of his guard, but in name only. When it comes to battle Solomon will be on another level compared to everyone else in attendance. ### Claus Myleo, Tymphera Ling & Moira Themiskol And following Samael is the 3 envoys of The Council of the Sages Claus Myleo, Tymphera Ling, and Moira Themiskol. The Council of the Sages being the council of the 3 grand sages of the Seirun, Barthom and Radomeer. Seirun, Barthom, and Radomeer are also known as the 3 nations that make up the Holy Demiurge Empire. Angering these folks is practically suicide. Not much is known of these foreign envoys, so above all else. Be careful. They will be travelling with 3-5 guards each. ## Your Abilities Now to the players. Each of you has been given 3 Magic: The Gathering cards as place holders for modified ability tokens. You may had in your card to activate said cards ability as defined by the following passages. ### Anticipate Upon using this ability you may retcon an event that happened earlier that day. This has varying uses, and the affect of the retconned event can not exceed 5000pp. ### Mindstatic Upon using this ability you may force a condition of your choosing onto a characte4r of your choosing for 1 min. with a DC17 saving throw. The conditions that can be used are: Blinded, Charmed, Deafened, Frightened, Incapacitated, Paralyzed, Petrified, Poisoned, Stunned, and Unconscious. This ability is undetectable, untraceable, and impossible to save against. \columnbreak ### Uncovered Clues Upon using this ability you may ask for 1 hint from the DM, but the hint can be as ambiguous as the DM would like it to be. This hint can not be used in addition to another ability, or as a way to gain a mechanical advantage in the game.
