## Giratina The Renegade, Giratina, was once part of a trinity of divine dragons that represented the laws of reality itself. Its siblings are Dialga, keeper of time, and Palkia, master and space. Giratina represents the forces unbound by such laws, the inverse of reality. However, it has since been exiled by the Creator due to its extreme violence, so Giratina silently watches the planes from its own personal realm, the Distortion World. When the natural order of the multiverse is disturbed, Giratina will appear to correct the disturbance using any means necessary. Giratina has the visage of a dark, gray dragon adorned in red and black markings and golden rings and crowns, but its form will shift depending on whether or not it is on its home plane. In its home dimension, its body is in its natural state, its Origin Forme, which allows it to aimlessly float throughout the Distortion World's expanse. The golden crown forms a mask that can open and close around its face. Six shadowy tendrils emerge from its back to serve as its wings, and six spikes jut out the sides of its serpentine body. When Giratina visits another plane, it takes the shape of its Altered Forme, which adjusts its body into a heavier and denser state. The tendrils become a pair of umbral, ever-shifting wings that double as massive claws. The spikes on its sides thicken and elongate into six sturdy legs that hold its impressive weight. The golden crown pulls away from its mouth to reveal its face. ### The Distortion World Giratina resides in the Distortion World, an endless void that twists the very laws of the material planes. It is the Renegade's own domain of perfectly ordered chaos. The Distortion World is covered in perpetual dusk, granting the dreary realm the slightest hint of fading blue light. Jagged, azure islands float about the expanse, topped with a layer of rust-colored soil. An island may hold twisted, illusionary trees, still lakes, or waterfalls that flow into the horizon. The silence of the realm is only broken by the rushing sound of water, as even its single denizen dares not make a sound. Gravity is fickle in these lands, for each island pulls gravity in various, inconsistent directions. Traversing through the Distortion World may be tricky, as creatures must constantly reorient themselves to an island's local gravity. Visitors may find themselves walking up a cliff face, or waving to the upside-down neighbor above them. Crossing through a change in gravity will vary in difficulty. Small changes in direction may not be strenuous at all, while more greater shifts in direction may be considered difficult terrain to cross. A harsh shift in direction, such as crossing into a complete 180-degree shift, may require a DC 15 Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to cross without falling prone or taking damage from falling. \pagebreakNum
\columnbreak ### Giratina's Lair The entirety of the Distortion World is considered Giratina's lair. It can however open small portals into other planes to allow for easier travel, which expands its lair to include these small territories. The Renegade prefers to open gateways into isolated caverns or secluded graveyards. #### Lair Actions On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Giratina takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Giratina can't use the same effect two rounds in a row: - Giratina casts the *maelstrom* or *reverse gravity* spell at its lowest level, requiring no material components. Giratina doesn't need to concentrate on the spell, which ends on initiative count 20 of the next round. - Giratina creates three 5-foot cube portals. Each creature within 15 feet of a portal when it appears must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be dragged 10 feet towards the portal. If a Medium or smaller creature touches a portal, it is transported to an identical exit portal in another dimension. A transported creature is ejected 30 feet in a random direction from the exit portal. If a creature touches the exit portal, it is transported to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the entrance portal in Giratina's lair. The portals close on on initiative count 20 of the next round. The creature must roll 1d4 on the Portal Possibilities table below to see where it is sent to. ##### Portal Possibilities | d4 | Plane | |:---:|:-----------| | 1 | Material Plane | | 2 | Astral Plane | | 3 | Etheral Plane | | 4 | Shadowfell | #### Regional Effects The region containing Giratina's lair is warped by its magic, creating one or more of the following effects: - Fog lightly obscures the land within 6 miles of the lair. Within the Distortion World, this fog forms spirals of clouds. - An eerie silence fills the land within 4 miles of the lair, save for the sounds of running water or howling winds. - Wildlife stays at least 2 miles away from the lair, sensing an ominous presence within. Even intelligent creatures are filled with sense of dread when getting this close to the lair. - Gravity distorts and shifts within 1 mile of the lair, becoming lighter in some places and heavier in others. In areas of lighter gravity, the weight of a creature and its carried objects is halved, and its jump distance is doubled. In areas of heavier gravity, the weight of a creature and its carried objects is doubled, and its jump distance is halved. - A single, stable portal to the Distortion World appears in the heart of the lair, which can transport any creature that touches it. \pagebreakNum ___ ___ > ## Giratina >*Gargantuan dragon (shapeshifter), lawful neutral* > ___ > - **Armor Class** 26 (natural armor) > - **Hit Points** 592 (32d20+256) > - **Speed** 35 ft., fly 70 ft., (hover, Origin Forme only) >___ >|STR|DEX|CON|INT|WIS|CHA| >|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:| >|27 (+8)|20 (+5)|27 (+8)|20 (+5)|23 (+6)|25 (+7)| >___ > - **Saving Throws** Str +16, Con +16, Wis +14, Cha +15 > - **Skills** Insight +14, Intimidation +23, Perception +14 > - **Damage Resistances** cold, fire, lightning > - **Damage Immunities** necrotic; bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical weapons > - **Condition Immunities** blinded, charmed, deafened, exhaustion, frightened, poisoned, stunned > - **Senses** truesight 120 ft., passive Perception 22 > - **Languages** all, telepathy 120 ft. > - **Challenge** 26 (90,000) > ___ > ***Antimatter.*** When Giratina dies, it explodes, and each creature within 40 feet of it must make a DC 24 Dexterity saving throw, taking 90 (20d8) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Each creature within 20 feet of Giratina must succeed on a DC 23 Strength saving throw or take 21 (6d6) necrotic damage and be pushed 15 feet away and knocked prone. > > **Shadow Force (Costs 2 actions).** Giratina magically turns invisible and teleports up to 90 feet to an unoccupied space that it can see. It remains invisible until the end of its next turn, or until it takes an action. The next time Giratina makes a melee weapon attack against a creature while it is still invisible, it automatically hits. \pagebreakNum ##### Credits - By Lobstaris. - Created for the Pokemon prompt on *the Discord of Many Things*. - *Giratina*, *The Distortion World*, and *Pokemon* are all owned by Nintendo. - "*[Rebellious Mirror](https://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=2924818)*" by [Arugeri](https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=139335). - *"[Lord of Distortion](https://www.deviantart.com/renepolumorfous/art/Lord-of-Distortion-525189083)*" by [RenePolumorfous](https://www.deviantart.com/renepolumorfous). - GMBinder icon captured from *Pokemon Platinum*. - Made with GMBinder.
