College of Dancers

Using their fancy footwork and mesmerizing movements, these bards dance around the streets of civilization and the fields of combat. These bard tend to attract groups of people towards them with their masterful steps, though some have been known to act as personal entertainment for royalty or the higher class.

Dancing Style

At 3rd level, you adopt a style of dancing as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. You can't benefit from your Dancing Style while you are incapacitated or your speed is 0.

Jig. Your base movement speed increases by 5 feet.

Samba. While you are not wearing armor, you gain + 1 to your AC.

Swing. When you take the Disengage action, you can choose a willing creature within 5 feet of you to benefit from the Disengage action as well. You can use your movement to immediately move both of you up to half your speed, remaining within 5 feet of each other as you move. The target cannot be incapacitated or have a speed 0.

Waltz. When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. The target cannot be incapacitated or have a speed 0

Set the Tempo

At 3rd level, you can use your agile, rhythmical movements to set the stage. At the start of combat, you can expend one Bardiac Inspiration and add to or subtract from any initiative totals up to the total number rolled. You can do this after initiative is rolled, but before the first round of combat starts.

Additionally, you can use your dancing in place of or in tandem with a musical instrument for your spellcasting focus.

Rhythmic movement

at 6th level, you have learned to dance around the attacks of others. When an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack’s damage against you. You cannot benefit from this ability while you are incapacitated or your speed is reduced to 0.

Persevering Routine

At 14th level, Your agile and passionate footwork remains unmatched to all but your finest rivals and your greatest adversaries. You may use an action a to spend a Bardic Inspiration die and begin a dance unique to you. While engaging in this dance you may choose one of the following options:

  • You gain an additional action which can only be used for an Attack, Dash, Disengage or Dodge action. Once during this dance, you also deal an additional amount of damage equal to the Bardic Inspiration value rolled.
  • You add twice the value rolled on the bardic inspiration die to performance checks you make until the end of this feature.

This dance lasts for one minute and can be ended early with a bonus action. This dance also ends early if you become incapacitated or your speed is reduced to 0.

When the feature ends, you suffer 1 point of exhaustion

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
