### Circle of the Grovekeeper Druids who are of the Circle of the Grovekeeper delve more completely into the ancient rituals and hidden knowledge of plant magic. Grovekeeper druids to keep to themselves, becoming rooted in the groves they’ve sworn to protect and defend. They can spend hundreds of years in solitude, becoming one with the land around them. As a member of this circle, your magic allows you to be a bastion of the wilds – shielding your allies with the might of nature. #### Circle of the Grovekeeper Features | Druid Level | Features | |:----:|:-------------| | 2nd | Primeval Guardian, Sow Grove | | 6th | Guardian Magic | | 10th | Nature's Bulwark | | 14th | One with Nature |
#### Primeval Guardian Starting at 2nd level, you gain the ability to temporarily grow and take on the appearance of a tree, covered with leaves and bark and wrapped in vines. When you use your Wild Shape feature, rather than transforming you may awaken the guardian within you, this form lasts for 10 minutes or until dismissed as a bonus action. (Normal restriction on casting spells while wild shaped apply unless another feature states otherwise) You undergo the following changes while in your guardian form: - Your size becomes Large, unless you were larger. - Any speed you have becomes 5 feet, unless your speed was lower. - Your reach increases by 5 feet. - You gain a number of temporary hit points immediately and at the start of each of your turns. The number equals your druid level. When the form ends, you lose any temporary hit points you have from it. - Using your trunk-like arms you can use your spellcasting ability instead of strength for your melee attacks, and the damage die for your unarmed strikes becomes a d8. - This feature's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8) #### Sow Grove When you join the Circle of the Grovekeer at level 2 you may over the course of ten minutes, or as a bonus action while in guardian form touch the earth expend a spellslot to use your ancient knowledge and magical ability to call fourth the latent power of an outdoor or underground area. Plants and nature erupt from the earth and surrounding terrain, filling the area. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier. The radius of your grove starts at 15 feet however you may increase this by using a higher level spellslot, when you use this feature using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the radius of the grove increases by 5 feet for each slot level above 1st. - The area becomes difficult terrain. - While you remain in the grove your AC is increased by 2. - When you use this feature, you may designate a number of creatures up to your wisdom modifier (minimum 1) who are unaffected by the difficult terrain in addition to yourself. - When you first summon the grove, any designated allies currently standing in the area of growth gain temporary hit point equal to your spellcasting ability modifier. These temporary hit points are lost upon leaving the grove. - While you are in your guardian form the grove moves with you, centered on you. - Your grove withers and dissapears if you are more than 30 feet away from it's boundaries for 5 minutes or more. It also disappears if you use this feature again, or if you dismiss the grove (no action required), or if you die. While you are **within your grove** you may cast the following spells as if they were druid spells. These spell are exempt from the casting restrictions of guardian form. | Druid Level | Grove Spells | |:---:|:-----------:| | 3 | Warding Bond | | 5 | Glyph of Warding | | 7 | Guardian of Faith | | 9 | Circle of Power | Warding Bond Glyph of Warding Guardian of Faith Circle of Power (At druid level 9) #### Guardian's Magic Starting at 6th level, while you are in your guardian form, as a bonus action, you may cast the thorn whip cantrip, requiring no material components, even if you would not normally know it. While in guardian form, your melee attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Additionally you can cast many your druid spells while in guardian form. You may cast up to 2nd level spells in this manner. \pagebreak #### Nature's Bulwark At 10th level, when an attacker that you can see hits another creature within 30 feet of you or within your grove with an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage by 1d6 + your wisdom modifier, as tangle of thorny roots erupts from the ground and shields your ally. If you expend a spellslot as part of this reaction, you can shield all your designated allies within your grove. ___ **If you are in your guardian form** and the attacking creature is within 30 feet of you - or within your grove, you may use your reaction to deal damage equal to that blocked in piercing damage. This feature reduces an additional 1d6 damage at level 14. Additionally while in guardian form you have advantage on saves against any effects that would push, shove, knock prone or subject you to any other form of involuntary movement. \columnbreak #### The grove flourishes At 14th level you've mastered the art of calling forth your grove. You gain the following benefits to your grove feature: - You may summon a grove on any solid surface. - The base radius increases to 30 feet. - While in guardian form inside your grove you may use a bonus action, and tap the power of the grove to invigorate your limbs, increasing your speed by 15 feet for one round. - If you fall unconcious while within your grove you have advantage on death saves. - Once per day you may command the grove to fruit, causing it to sprout 1d10 + your wisdom modifier good berries. These are scattered about the grove but easy to find. \columnbreak
