## Clot --- *"Although extremely weak on their own, their real strength comes in numbers."* *- Amalthalda, Paladin of Pelor, enemy of the undead.* --- The alchemists at Horzine Industries created many specimens in their pursuit of magical and chemical "super soldiers". The clot is the most basic, and thought to be the original experiment. Driven by nothing more than violence and perceived hunger, one clot by itself is little more than an inconvenience. The clots true strength comes in numbers, and its habit of grabbing and biting its prey serves to delay them until a bigger threat can arrive to land a killing blow. The termination of a clot, or indeed any of Horzine's specimens, can temporarily activate a burst of adrenaline that momentarily grants them speed beyond the norm. This usually presents itself as a rapid attempt to dispatch the clot or other enemies, or a quick sprint to try and escape its grasp. Onlookers and researchers have taken to calling this phenomena "ZED time". \columnbreak ___ > ## Clot >*Medium undead, chaotic evil* > ___ > - **Armor Class** 8 > - **Hit Points** 30 (4d8 + 12) > - **Speed** 20 ft. >___ >|STR|DEX|CON|INT|WIS|CHA| >|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:| >|14 (+2)|6 (-2)|16 (+3)|3 (-4)|6 (-2)|5 (-3)| >___ > - **Condition Immunities** poisoned > - **Senses** darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 8 > - **Languages** understands all languages it spoke in life but can't speak > - **Challenge** 1/2 (100 XP) > ___ > > ***Overwhelm.*** If the clot is grappling a creature, it may make a bite attack against that creature as a bonus action. > > ***ZED Time.*** If a creature scores a critical hit on an attack roll against the clot, that creature can either make one attack as a bonus action, or move up to half its speed before the end of its turn. > > ### Actions > ***Bite.*** *Melee Weapon Attack:* +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature grappled by the clot. *Hit:* 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage. > > ***Claw.*** *Melee Weapon Attack:* +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. *Hit:* 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage, and if the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 12).
