Bloat

"A literal meatshield in the ranks of the undead."

- Amalthalda, Paladin of Pelor, enemy of the undead.

The repugnant but seemingly docile bloat is a slow moving, hardy undead capable of vomiting forth acid bile on its enemies.

The presence of bloats can often be heard before it is seen, with their large mass causing their footfalls to rumble through the ground, and their groans echoing through streets and nature alike.

Though often found wielding at least one cleaver or axe, a bloat usually prefers to get up close to its enemies and spew its acidic bile on them, causing prolonged damage and having a particular knack for getting acid in its enemies eyes.

When staring down death, the bloat can find an unnatural burst of speed before it violently explodes, coating the surrounding area in more of its acidic bile. Because of this, the bloat should be considered a threat even when near death, and shortly after.
