# Posasque (Possumfolk) ###### "Ah, good evening to you worthy friend. Please, please, come closer. Wait, don't go! I can see that you're only interested in the exceptionally rare. I think then, you would be most rewarded to consider...this. Do not be fooled by its commonplace appearance. Like so many things, it is not what is outside, but what is inside that counts. This is no ordinary lamp!" -- Smack, Posasgue Salesman
Possum like creatures known their their gift of gab, speaking in a mix of hisses, clicks and smacking sounds, adaptability and like the creature they are related to "playing possum". When they're not scavenging and trading off their finds, they're either helping raise their large families or spending what they just earned. Posasque families tend to be large ones, with the amount of young numbering anywhere from 6 to 12, and occasionally more! Because they have such large family units Posasque tend to live with other Posasque families, or in large communities where they raise their young communally, though its not uncommon to see one family raising their own young. Being raised in large communities gives most of their race as a whole strong familial ties and bonds. \columnbreak ## Lifestyle Though they have no kingdom or country, these creatures can be found in numerous places from large cities to the undisturbed and dangerous wilderness. Their nature though tends for them to be scavengers, so they normally make homes for themselves nearby other settlements to trade with. When met with confrontation Posasque will defend themselves or when met with unfavorable odds they'll "play possum" not to say that they'll play dead but they'll attempt to talk their way out of it and if that doesn't work then play dead. As a whole these people are tenacious and clever, using their wits and speed rather than using brute force to get their way. Due to their natural abilities they tend to make great merchants and dextrous acrobats or thieves.

Their birth names are spoken in their traditional tongue, making it difficult for most other races to say or pronounce, usually having to do with a hope or aspiration for their child, or the profession of their parent. In any case, most from outside their community tend to give a nickname or they will name themselves in the common tongue. ### Posasque Traits **Ability Score Increase.** Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Charisma Score by 1 **Age.** Posasque are born very small and underdeveloped in large litters, and remain in their mothers pouch for around 4 to 5 months, after which they venture out of the pouch and are raised to maturity until 5 years old.
