## Rip and Tear: How to Glory Kill A Demon I have built these deaths around the ways that the Doomslayer would kill them, so these deaths are made for how Strength-based characters would tear apart these monsters. Dex and magic users, beware. Also, I have omitted some fiends, namely the Alkilith and Shadow Demon and Yochlol, on the grounds that they can't be killed Doomslayer-style. ##### Armanite | d8 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You grab the armanite's falling front legs and bash in its skull with one of them. | | 2 | You throw the armanite to the floor, breaking its legs, and slice open its underbelly. | | 3 | You avoid its claw swipes, break one of its arms, and slice open its own throat with the claws. | | 4 | You grab the armanite by the horns, pull it up by them, and smash its skull into the floor. | | 5 | You tear off one of the a horns and pierce its brain with the horn. | | 6 | You grab the armanite's tail, beating it to the floor, and strangle it with its own tail. | | 7 | You rip off the armanite's tail, then ram the serrated edge into the tail's stump. | | 8 | As it tries to run away, you grab its hind legs and slam it over and over into the ground. | ##### Bulezau | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | As the bulezau tries to jump away from you, you grab it by its legs and tear them away from the rest of its body. | | 2 | You grab the bulezau by one horn and swing it into the floor.| | 3 | You rip off the bulezau's tail, stomping on the squirming bulezau so it can't run away as it dies. | | 4 | You knee the bulezau in the face, shattering bone. | | 5 | You grab the bulezau's barbed tail and puncture its stomach with the barbs, leaving it in a self-inflicted impalement spire. | | 6 | You force the bulezau to drip its own poison into its eyes, blinding it with the liquid, then impaling one eye with the barbs. | \columnbreak ##### Babau | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You trip the babau, and as it tries to gaze at you to weaken your blow, you cave its head in. | | 2 | You stretch the babau's jaw, breaking its jaw away from its face and beating the babau to death with it. | | 3 | As the babau tries to strike fear into your heart, you tear out its own, which you force down back into its intestines.| | 4 | You bash the babau's horn into its own skull, tearing it out of the destroyed brain matter like a spoon. | | 5 | You tear the horn off of the babau's head and stab it into its chest. | | 6 | You force the babau to cut off one of its arms with its own claws, then force the babau close to you with the other arm for you to snap its neck. | ##### Balor In the case of a balor, the DM needs to make a call on whether or not ripping and tearing a balor allows it to explode. Many of these moves end up backfiring if the character has to get right up on them and ends up in a fireball. | d8 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | The balor teleports next to you, haughty and ready to bash you in, but you use its momentary disorientation to knock its face to the side, then grab it by the horns and repeatedly knee it in the face until its body goes limp. | | 2 | The balor triumphantly swings its longsword at you, but you deftly dodge, throwing the weight of the sword back in the balor's direction so that it stabs itself in the chest. Ignoring the pain of the fire whip, you wrap it around the stunned balor's head and garrote the balor by its own whip. | | 4 | As the balor tries to take off, desperate to fight another day, you grab it by the end of the wing. It falls back to earth, unable to take off, and you grab its other wing as you step onto its back. With a great heave, you rip both of its wings off, and stomp into the open wounds. | | 5 | You force the balor to its knees with how wounded it is. Striding up to it, you easily swat away its arms, force it to the floor, and beat its head into the floor long after it has already stopped moving. | \pagebreakNum | d6 | Death | |:--:|:-----:| | 6 | You force the balor into an armbar and beat it in the head with your other hand. You use this leverage to then grab it by the jaw, and force its mouth open until its face breaks apart. | | 8 | The balor approaches from the sky, trying to divebomb you in a last-ditch effort to smash you to pieces. You jump up to meet it in midair, and force it instead to dive straight into the ground, smashing its own head in. | ##### Barglura | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | As the barlgura leaps to bash you with its fists, you move out of the way and break one of its arms by bashing its elbow. As it yells in pain, you throw its head to the floor. | | 2 | You grapple the barlgura's upper and lower jaws. It struggles against your hands, but you force its jaws farther and farther back until its head breaks in half. | | 3 | You grab the barlgura's arm and beat it to death. | | 4 | You grab the barlgura by its leg and stomp a hole into its gut. | | 5 | You grab both of the barlgura's legs and thrust yourself forward with enough momentum to knee its head off. | | 6 | You tear off one of the barlgura's hands and force it down its throat with repeated punches. | ##### Chasme | d6 | Deaths | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You jerk the chasme around by its proboscis, swinging it around and around you, then slamming it into the ground. | | 2 | You tear off the chasme's legs one by one, then slap it in the face with one of its legs. | | 3 | The chasme intensifies its drone, desperate to get you away from it, but you rip off its wings to stop the drone and bash the chasme's face in. | | 4 | You rip off the chasme's proboscis and stab it into its own face, the chasme melting into a dry husk as its necrotic power turns against itself. | | 5 | You punt off the chasme's head, rolling like a viscera-laden soccer ball. | | 6 | You grab the chasme by its midsection and rip it in two. | \columnbreak ##### Devourer | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You crush the devourer's ribcage, splattering the creature in its stomach, then stab the devourer in the mouth with one of its ribs. | | 2 | You trip the devourer, run up its tripped body, and stomp into its open mouth, sending teeth ripping through the back of its neck.| | 3 | You trip the devourer, dropping it on its face. The creature within its chest screams and squeals before its falling form is smashed to dust.| | 4 | You force the devourer's head down to your level, then throw a fist through its forehead. | | 5 | You grapple with both of the devourer's arms before using its own momentum against it to send it careening on its side. | | 6 | You drag the devourer to the ground by its leg, tearing it off at the knee. | ##### Draegloth | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You rip off one of the draegloth's arms and use it as a bludgeon against the draegloth's head. | | 2 | Pulling the draegloth's hair from behind, you jam your elbow into its forehead many, many times. | | 3 | As the draegloth tries over and over to swipe at you, you break each of its claws. You then punch the glabrezu in the face as it roars at you, dislocating its jaw. | | 3 | You grab both of the glabrezu's smaller arms and kick off of its body, tearing both of them off. As it recoils in pain, you throw both arms at the glabrezu's head. | | 4 | You grab the glabrezu by the horns and knee its mouth shut over and over again. | | 5 | You knock the glabrezu on its front from behind, then force both of its pincer arms behind its back. You can feel its sinew tear as the arms are forced farther and farther back until they finally rip off. | | 6 | You grab one of the glabrezu's pincer arms and force it against its own neck. Over several seconds, you force the pincers shut around its neck as it screams before its head finally separates. | ##### Goristro | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You cut the goristro's Achilles's tendon and send it falling. When it hits, its body is crushed under its own weight.| | 2 | You grab the goristro by its goatee and force it down to your level. You then punch it over and over in the snout and eyes. | | 3 | You grab the goristro by the legs and sweep it onto the floor, knocking its head onto the floor. | | 4 | You jump onto the goristro's back and beat it until it falls down, then break off one of its horns to force into its own mouth. | | 5 | You punch the goristro's arms, breaking them, and uppercut it. | | 6 | You break the goristro's teeth and force it to swallow its own teeth, ripping its throat apart. As it suffers, you tear out its tongue and force it down, too. | \columnbreak ##### Hezrou | d4 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You wrestle the hezrou to the floor and beat it over the head with both fists. | | 2 | You bend back all of the fingers on the hezrou's hands until they all break apart, then squeeze its neck until it pops. | | 3 | You stamp down on the hezrou's feet, forcing it to open its mouth in pain, and you uppercut its open mouth. | | 4 | You force the hezrou's claws into its own stomach, ripping out its viscera. ##### Manes | d6 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You punt the manes with your foot, splattering it into dust against the nearest surface. | | 2 | You make an overhead punch against the manes, caving its skull into its torso. | | 3 | You kick the manes so hard in the side that the force of your kick splits its body in half. | | 4 | You dig through the manes's chest, scrambling its insides.| | 5 | You grab the manes by the arm and swing its body around. Its arm tears off, launching it lifeless body elsewhere. | | 6 | You grab the manes's hand in yours and squeeze it, breaking it into bloody pieces, and snake your hand up through the viscera until you grip the manes's brain and destroy it. | ##### Marilith | d8 | Death | |:-:|:-:| | 1 | You weave through its flurry of arms and swords, reaching directly for its head and giving it one swift punch to crush its skull. | | 2 | You rip one of the marilith's swords from its grasp, slicing it over and over again in a death of 1,000 cuts. | | 3 | You grab at the marilith's tail. You drag it closer and closer as its flails wildly, and you rip its torso apart by pulling at its tail. | | 4 | You throw aside each and every arm of the marilith's, breaking them in turn, before finally taking one of its swords and cutting each of the arms off. | | 5 | You grab the marilith's tail and use it to drag the marilith in circles, finally smashing it against a wall. | | 6 | You stomp into the marilith's tail, breaking through flesh and into the floor below. As it tries to escape, it rips through its own flesh, worsening the wound until its tail is fully ripped apart. | | 7 | You grab the marilith and heave it into the air, also grabbing one of its swords. As it falls, you skewer it on the sword. | | 8 | You suplex the marilith from behind, crushing its skull. As it seizes from paralysis, you unceremoniously stomp its skull. | | 4 | You wrench open the maurezhi's jaw, then force one of its claws down its throat. | ##### Maw Demon | d4 | Death | |:--:|:-----:| | 1 | You tear its body in half, inverting its jaws. | | 2 | You grab one of its legs and throw it over and over again into the floor. | | 3 | You punch out each of the maw demon's eyes, leaving it fumbling for a moment, then kick it away. | | 4 | You punt the maw demon away with enough force to splatter it apart. | ##### Molydeus | d6 | Death | |:--:|:-----:| | 1 | As the molydeus tries to run you through with a *lightning bolt,* you force the finger back on itself, frying its own brain. | | 2 | As the molydeus tries to *polymorph* you into a harmless form, you sabotage the casting with a sneaky hit, making it accidentally turn your arm into that of a tarrasque, which smashes it into paste. | | 3 | You force the demonic weapon away from the molydeus, which flies into a rage in its desperation to get it back. You hold its body up to the other horrified creatures. | | 3 | You take the narzugon's lance and smack it to the ground with a swipe at the legs. You force the lance down its throat as it tries to push it away, piercing it through the back of the neck. | | 4 | You take off the narzugon's helmet and beat its skull apart using its own helmet. | | 5 | You grab the narzugon's leg and gouge its eyes out as it fails to find footing, then break its nose with a single fist. | | 6 | At the end of its rope, the narzugon looses a pathetic fist, but you easily swipe it aside and break its arm backwards. You then grab the destroyed arm and headbutt the narzugon until its teeth fall out. | ##### Narzugon (with *nightmare*) | **d6** | **Death** | |:------:|:---------:| | 1 | You sweep the nightmare's leg, then sweep around as it falls to clothesline the falling narzugon. | | 2 | You jump at the rushing nightmare and unhorse the narzugon with a flying kick that launches it back with so much force that it breaks its ribs.| | 3 | You sidestep the narzugon's lance and grab it with all your force, dislocating the narzugon's shoulder. You use it momentary horrid pain to throw the lance between its shoulder blades and into its spine. | | 4 | As the nightmare kicks up its legs, you rush underneath its hooves and push it back, crushing the narzugon underneath the weight of its horse.| | 5 | You pull the narzugon off of its horse from behind and smack the nightmare. Frightened, it kicks up its back legs and breaks the ribs of its narzugon. | | 6 | You grab the nightmare by the tail, tearing it off, then using the hole in the flesh as a lever by which to suplex the nightmare with the narzugon still on it. ##### Nupperibo | **d4** | **Death** | |:------:|:---------:| | 1 | You tip the nupperibo over on its spindly legs and rip a hole in its back, driving the vermin around it to eat its flesh. | 2 | You force fingers into the nupperibo's two eyes and mouth and close your fist, crushing the front of its skull. | | 3 | You charge the nupperibo and hit with such force that its body splits open at its chest, and you reemerge showered in its previous meals. | | 4 | You grab the nupperibo's leg and throw it to the floor, its weight breaking its entire fragile skeleton. ##### Orthon Because of the ability of an orthon to kill itself, the DM must make a call on whether ripping and tearing an orthon will cause it to explode, as these moves are much less cool when you're turned to paste right after. | **d8** | **Death** | |:------:|:---------:| | 1 | The orthon tries to go invisible to avoid your strike, but you strike first and break its face with a vicious straight lunge. | | 2 | The orthon looses a bolt at you, but you catch it in midair and throw it back into the orthon's face. | | 3 | You approach the orthon, which seems to be defeated, but its feint breaks and it tries to stab you in the gut. You easily swipe it aside, though, and slit its throat before you finish the job with a decapitation. | 4 | You grab the orthon by its arm and force it to loose a bolt into its own leg. Dazed by the hit, you turn the crossbow on its visor and loose a bolt that tears its brains out. | ##### Pit Fiend | **d8** | **Death** | |:------:|:---------:| | 1 | You grab the pit fiend's horn and tear it off with a punch to its head, then jam the horn back into its own head. As it recoils in pain, you stomp the horn further in, mixing bone with brain. | | 2 | The pit fiend tries to hit you with an overhead slam, but you grab its hand and twist it, yanking the mace out of its hand, and beat it into the ground. You break first its legs, then its arms, and jam the mace into its mouth and through the back of its head. | 3 | You grab the pit fiend's claws and grip them until they shatter. As the devil tries to bite into you, you throw its hands into its mouth and force it to swallow its own claws. | | 4 | You tear an arm off of the pit fiend. As it roars in pain, you jam the arm back in claw-first, destroying its spine. As it falls in defeat, you jam its eyes out with your thumb. | | 5 | The pit fiend tries to loose a *fireball* at you, but you're faster. As its finger tries to loose the flame at you, you force the finger down its own mouth. It tries viciously to stop the spell, but you force its claw to finish, blowing its head up with the pressure of the *fireball*. | 6 | You grab the pit fiend's tail as it whips at you and stop its tail cold. As the devil tries to fly away to throw off your grip, you slam it into the ground and rip the tail off, then using its heft to strangle the defenseless devil. | | 7 | You disarm the pit fiend of its mace and sweep its leg, spinning around rapidly to strike its falling head. You finish the job by viciously smashing its skull apart with the mace several times, its pathetic struggle getting weaker and weaker. | | 8 | You grab the pit fiend's jaw and force it wide open. You throw your hand down into its throat and tear it apart, then rip out the devil's tongue and force feed it back down its destroyed throat. | \columnbreak ##### Spined Devil | **d8** | **Death** | |:------:|:---------:| | 1 | You slap the spined devil as it rushes towards you, throwing it to the floor. You tear up the devil's face with several of these spines and wring its neck when it tries to resist. | | 6 | You wrap up the spined devil's fork in its wing and ram it through into the devil's neck. | | 7 | You uppercut the spined devil and slam it into the floor. | | 8 | You slash the spined devil's throat with its fork and then rip its head off. |
