Dōbutsu Kami (Spirit Animals)

<h3>Dōbutsu Kami (Spirit Animals)</h3>

Born from Fey ancestry, Dōbutsu Kami are humanoids with an inate ability to shapechange. From birth they are able to change into the form of a single specific mundane animal. During their early years they may have issues controlling when they change, changing into an animal when frightened or surprised. Common types include Foxes (Kitsune), Raccoon Dogs (Tanuki), Cats, and other misichieviouos animals (generally no smaller than a rat, and no larger than a deer). They love practical jokes sometimes to a point where they can hurt those they are trying to prank. These chaotic tricksters often hide among humans, taking advantage of the humans' short lives to avoid the long held grudges of other races they would otherwise invoke from their antics. When a Dōbutsu Kami and a human reproduce the child is typically also a Dōbutsu Kami, which can be quite a shocking prank to their human parent if they were not informed ahead of time. Any pairing that includes at least one Dōbutsu Kami tends to result in Dōbutsu Kami children. Their preferred diets usually tend to match their animal form, but they can eat anything a human would. 
 Names: Dōbutsu Kami typically take human names from the society they live in. Their true name is usually that of a plant.
 Female True Names: Kudzu, Ivy, Lilly, Rose, Saffron, Walnut, Acacia, Willow, Holly, Olive, 
 Male True Names: Oak, Elm, Maple, Birch, Mangrove, Hickory, Hemlock, Alder, Yew, Ash

Ability Score Increase: Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1. 
 Age: Dōbutsu Kami can live up to 1000 years. This is widely unknown to other races, as they usually refuse to tell their age to anyone. They are considered adults at 50. They tend not show their old age, but look like a young adult for the entire duration. 
 Alignment: Dōbutsu Kami tend toward Chaotic. They seem to fall anywhere on the good to evil side of things.
 Size: Dōbutsu Kami can take the form of a tiny to medium animal. In your human and true form your size is Medium. 
 Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet. 
 Trickster: You have proficiency in the Deception and Slight of Hand skills. 
 Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
 Shapeshifter: You count as a Fey as well as a Humanoid. Spells that effect shapechangers or fey effect you. As an action you may switch between one of three forms. 
 Your human form looks like a normal human, for the most part, except one or two minor traits tend to leak through. Most Dōbutsu Kami hide these traits to blend in if they are more obvious. For example you may have strange colored eyes, partial patterning carried over from your fur coat, black claw like nails, a tail, animal ears, whiskers, a shadow the shape of your animal form, a hunched posture, or a posture where you walk on your toes. Your True form is a humanoid shaped version of your animal form. This form benefits from your keen animal senses as well as the ability to use weapons, armor, and items as normal. Your animal form keeps all of your normal statistics and abilities, you are considered the size category of the animal you are based on. In this form you can't cast spells, and your ability to speak or take any action that requires hands is limited to the capabilities of your animal form. You do not get any of the traits of that animal's stat block, you are merely shaped like it. You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space or merges into your new form.
 Darkvision: (Beast and True Form only) When in your animal or True form you have an animal's keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
 Keen Senses: (Beast and True Form only) You have advantage on hearing and smell based perception checks.
 Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan
