Anar Cilin: Divine Light of Hope

When you first see this item, you surmise that it is perhaps a decoration rather than a weapon. This morningstar made entirely of glass resembles that of a sun or star. Once you grab it, a handle made of what seems to be a red leather that has flames emblazoned on it appear only where your hand is, the rest of the weapon still being the crystal clear glass. You call upon your deity and suddenly, from with the handle shoots forth divine energy that fills the entire glass, with the head of the weapon now resembling that of an actual star.

Forming the Divine Glass

In a time long before written history there was a fire primordial being named Cinkel, who from the begging of his existence would take sand and earth to create towering glass structures. Much of his work was destroyed and not seen as worthy since the glass was always fragile, and his creations almost always being destroyed. Cinkel was never discouraged and continued to create what he deemed beautiful, hoping to one day create a piece that would last the ages.

Cinkel for centuries created and created, always looking towards the stars for inspiration, for Anarmos, a beautiful celestial who weaved and created constellations caught his eye. His hope was for one day to make a structure so elaborate and exquisite that she would look down and be in awe of his work. He tried and tried but to no avail. On one fateful night, Anarmos was came down for the stars to celebrate the day of creation that happened oh so long ago. Cinkel saw her and quickly crafted a glass star to gift to her. Having never received something so pure and beautiful, she was enamored and soon her and Cinkel would spend more time together and eventually fall in love.

It seemed as though their time of happines and joy would last, yet a great a war began raging about, pitting all manners of creatures and god alike against one another. One day Anarmos could not find Cinkel and scoured the planes for him. She found him captured, barely hanging on to life and used all her might to save him. Once together, they tried to escape, using the glass star as their guide.

They fought valiantly adn together could not be destroyed. A mixture of both fire and divine light blazing all those who defied them while keeping each other alive. The battling would take it toll and they knew they would not live forever. So rather than lose each other, they laid down together holding each other, with the star between. There essences began to fade formign this bountiful energy that flew in the glass star, ensuring Anarmos and Cinkel would be together forever.

The glass star or Anar Cilin in its native tongue has been passed through the ages from gods to men to help ensure that even in the darkest of times, there will always be a light to show the way. The champions that were bestowed such an artifcat lead kingdoms and entire nations to victory, healing all those around them whilst smiting those who opposed them. Whose journey will the Glass Star illuminate next.

Weapon, (Morningstar) legacy, (requires attunement by a Cleric or Paladin), holy symbol

When you attune to this item, a surge of energy covers your body before entering the weapon. Divine energy (colored to match the weilders deity) swirls within the glass before dissapearing.

This morningstar deals 1d8 piercing damage and all attacks made with this weapon are magical. Anytime an enemy is killed, divine enrgy briefly surrounds the victim before dissapating.

Anar Cilin is a Weapon of Legacy with a history of triumph and anguish. There is a mysterious and ancient power that seems to be locked in the morningstar. Only those who have proven their worth are bestowed the secrets within.

  • Divine Flare As a bonus action, you call forth your deity and the glass morning star begins to fill with bright divine energy, with the spikes of the morningstar being replaced with the energy that takes the form of what appears to be solar flares and now sheds bright light in a 10 ft radius and dim light for another 10 ft. It now deals fire damage instead of piercing and while active, you can use your action to make a ranged spell attack to shoot out a 30 foot beam of divine energy that deals the same amount of damage as a normal melee attack made with Anar Cilin.
