Righteous Warden

Righteous Wardens are holy warriors, faithful servants to their chosen deity. They may be a vengeful dispenser of justice, hunting down those who stand against their god. Or they may be a wise leader, seeking to spread the teachings of their faith and bring aid those in need. These rangers are often the first agents of a god to show up during a crisis, representing the vanguard of their god’s faithful. While a formidable threat on their own, they excel when working beside others, using their connection to the divine to elevate their allies and inspire greatness in their party.

Bonus Proficiency

When you close this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Intimidation, Persuasion, or Religion.

Divine Violence

At 3rd level, you can call upon the power of your deity to enhance your attacks. As a bonus action, you can imbue your attacks with divine energy. The next time you hit a creature on this turn with a weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 1d4 damage to the target.

Additionally, the target becomes easier for your allies to strike. Before the start of your next turn, the first time an attack roll is made against the target by a creature other you, roll 1d4 and add the result to the attack roll.

The extra damage is necrotic or radiant; you choose the type of damage when you gain this feature.

The extra damage increases as you gain levels in this class, increasing to 1d6 damage at 7th level, 1d8 damage at 11th level, and 1d10 damage at 15th level.

Pious Protection

Starting at 7th level, you are able to protect your allies from harm. When another creature within 30 feet of you makes a saving throw, you can use your reaction to roll 1d4 and add the result to the saving throw.

If applying this bonus to a death saving throw increases the total to 20 or higher, the creature gains the benefits of rolling a 20 on the d20.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Wrathful Reprisal

At 11th level, you gain the ability to punish those who strike at your allies.

When a creature within 30 feet of you hits a target other than you with an attack, you can use your reaction to make one weapon attack against the attacking creature.

Divine Resilience

At 15th level, the power of your god allows you to recover from even the most grievous of wounds and ward your allies against damage.

As a bonus action, you can regain hit points equal to twice your ranger level. Additionally, choose up to five other creatures you can see within 30 feet of you. Those creatures gain temporary hit points equal to your ranger level.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
