Barbarian
Path of the Vivacious
The Feywild as a plane is characterized by raw, unchecked emotion and willpower. Creatures belonging to the plane can swing between delightful magnanimity and hostile malevolence without warning, and all mortal beings should be wary around their inscrutable ilk.
A warrior on the Path of the Vivacious likely hails from a region close to a boundary between the planes, or could even hail from the Feywild directly. Decide the nature of your interactions and relationship with fey creatures, or roll on the table below.
| d4 | Fey Connection |
|---|---|
| 1 | A powerful archfey marked you at birth. Growing up, you were prone to unpredictable mood swings or tumultuous fits. |
| 2 | While traveling through a forest one day, you found a unicorn in distress and saved it from certain death |
| 3 | You caroused with a boisterous satyr one night who taught you a drinking song with salacious lyrics |
| 4 | A coven of hags scourged your hometown, and you were the only survivor of their horrible occupation |
Infectious Passion
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your exuburance effervesces when you wage combat with your companions. When you begin raging, you can choose one of the following effects of your bubbling rage. You can use a bonus action on subsequent turns to change the active effect.
Rouse. Your passion empowers your allies. Any allied creature within 5 feet of you can add your rage damage to melee attacks that they make.
Glare. Your rage intimidates anyone who faces the prospect of fighting you. Any creature within 5 feet of you that you choose has their speed reduced by 5 feet until the beginning of your next turn. This amount is increased to 10 feet at 10th level, and 15 feet at 15th level.
Wild Mind
Also at 3rd level, you gain the ability to communicate on a rudimentary level with beasts and plants, They can understand the meaning of your words, although you have no special ability to understand them in return. You also can now understand and speak Sylvan.
Guardian Boughs
Beginning at 6th level, your connection to the Feywild inspires the very plants in your vicinity to aid you. As a bonus action, you can touch a plant within 5 feet of you of size Large or larger that isn't hostile to you and instill within it a protective spirit, turning it into a plant guardian.
The plant you designate will contort within its range of movement to help protect you for 1 minute. For the duration, if you are within 5 feet of the plant guardian, you gain the benefit of partial cover, giving you a +2 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once). When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.
Instill Rapture
Beginning at 10th level, you attain a degree of control over your power that allows you to enthrall other creatures with your presence.
As an action you can choose a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see and project some kind of sound; either a roar, a beguiling phrase, or a lyric of a song for instance. If that creature can hear you, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). Any creature that can't be charmed succeeds on this saving throw automatically.
For 1 minute, or until you are incapacitated, the creature has disadvantage on any Wisdom (Perception) checks to detect any creature other than you. Additionally, you have advantage on all Charisma ability checks directed at them.
Capricious Passage
Beginning at 14th level, your rage evokes the Fey so strongly that you're able to briefly flicker between the planar boundaries.
Once on your turn while raging, you can expend 5 feet of movement to disappear, and reappear in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of you that you can see. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Additionally, if you take damage while within 30 feet of the plant guardian created by your Guardian Boughs feature, you can use your reaction to disappear and reappear in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of your plant guardian. You can only use this particular reaction once per rage.
