Etherealborn Appearance

Etherealborn are generally composed of a human appearance, save for certain glaring details. One etherealborn could have silver hair, and white eyes with a misty pattern. Another could have black hair, and glowing eyes and a misty aura when under stress. Another etherealborn could have waving white hair, intensely blue eyes, and a ghostly voice. Whatever an etherealborn's physical appearance, it tends to have a spectral connotation to it.

Etherealborn Traits

Your etherealborn character has been raised in an environment that is deeply engaged with the arcane and eldritch arts, granting you the following traits.

Ability Score Increase. One ability score of your choice increases by 1. In addition, your Constitution score increases by 1, and your Intelligence score increases by 1.

Age. Etherealborn mature at the same rate as humans and reach adulthood in their late teens. However, etherealborn can live for much longer than humans do, up to 160 years.

Alignment. Although etherealborn share a varied heritage with their human families and cultures, they can sometimes be treated as outcasts for their otherworldly development. Etherealborn who are not supported in their growth tend towards chaos, which is accentuated by their mental state due to being able to see into the Ethereal Plane, and sometimes dreaming of the chaos from other planes.

Size. Etherealborn are as varied as their human parents, standing anywhere from 5 feet to over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision Accustomed to otherworldly sight, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Spectral Sight. You can use your action to ignite the spectral energy within yourself, causing your eyes to glimmer.

Your transformation lasts for 1 minute or until you end it as a bonus action. For the duration, you see invisible creatures and objects as if they were visible, and you can see into the Ethereal Plane. Ethereal creatures and objects appear ghostly and translucent.

Also, while you are transformed, you have resistance to psychic damage, and you can telepathically communicate with any creature you can see within 30 feet of you. You must share a language with the creature in order to be understood.

Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Primordial. Primordial is a guttural language, filled with harsh syllables and hard consonants.
