***Forbidden Fruit.*** Native to tropical regions, the porcupineapple grows on trees. Unlike most plants the porcupineapple isn't weak to fire due to its internal moisture, although when exposed to fire the porcupineapple becomes grilled and delicious.

In some regions the porcupineapple has been hunted to near extinction, or captured and farmed. Civil wars have been fought over whether or not the porcupine should be added to savoury dishes.

***Defensive Curl.*** The porcupineapple curls into a ball to protect itself, allowing its quills to protrude dangerously. This position protects the porcupineapple from natural predators, unfortunately for the porcupineapple natural predators are in abundance due to their edible nature.

The porcupineapple's quills can be launched a surprising distance and they regrow quickly. The quills are the porcupineapple's best defense and best offense, like a natural javelin.
