Circle of the Silver Hearts

Circle of the Silver Hearts

The Circle of the Silver Hearts are a band of cloistered female druids who adhere to strict regiments of chastity and reject the carnal pleasures of society and civilization. Often referred to as silver hearts or silver maidens, druids of this circle draw the attention of the most pure embodiments of nature, the unicorns, who offer them eternal loyalty.

Vows of the Silver Hearts

Silver hearts, druids invited into this circle, must vow to adhere the the doctrine of the circle, retaining their purity and reject aspects most mortals rejoice in experiencing. Should a silver heart break one of these vows willingly, their unicorn's heart is broken and departs from their company forever and they may no longer use the pure light feature.

Wear Your Chastity. Eschew all carnal, sexual desires and esteem your virginity.

Purity. Natural foods and drinks is all that can be consumed. That which alters the state of mind and body are impure and must be abstained from.

Be The Light. In the face of darkness and depravity, be the light that shines brightest in the darkest of places.

Silver Heart Spells

Your vows of purity infuse you with magic. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells below and they are always prepared for you, and they do not count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that is not on the druid spell list, the spell is none the less a druid spell for you. Should you break your vows willingly, you lose access to these spells permanently.

Druid Level Spells

Pure Light

Starting at 2nd level, as an action, you present yourself as a beacon of hope and purity. For 1 minute, you emit bright light in a 20-foot radius centered on yourself and dim light 20 feet beyond that. Act as though you had cast the purify food and drink spell. Additionally, as a bonus action, you can cast lesser restoration on any creature within that bright light without expending a spell slot or having the spell prepared. While you emit this light, you are under the effects of a proteciton from evil and good spell.

Once you use this feature you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.

Silver Heart Companion

At 6th level, your unicorn companion summoned by your find steed spell (see the Silver Steed Note) gains special properties. As an action, you can make your unicorn companion appear as a beautiful, normal white horse instead of a celestial being. This magical concealment cannot be perceived by anything short of truesight.

Additionally, while your pure light is activated and you are mounted on your unicorn companion, you can do the following.

Radiant Charge. If your unicorn companion has moved 20 feet or more in a straight line on or before your turn, you can use your action to make a melee spell attack with the horn of your unicorn companion. The horn of the unicorn glows in brilliant, radiant energy borrowed from your light. If your attack hits, you deal 3d8 + your Wisdom modifier in radiant damage. Each time you hit an opponent with this damage, the bright and dim light is reduced by 10 feet. Once the light is at 0 feet, the pure light effect ends.

This damage increases as you gain levels in druid at 11th level (4d8) and 17th level (5d8).

Shimmering Shield. As a reaction to a friendly creature within the bright or dim light you emit taking damage, roll 1d12 + your Wisdom modifier. The damage they receive is reduced by that amount as a brilliant, shimmering shield protects them.

Aura of Assurance

Starting at 10th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage to resist magical spells and effects that are from the school of enchantment as long as you are conscious.

Celestial Charger

Starting at 14th level, your unicorn companion now takes on all the properties of a unicorn except for its lair and legendary actions.

Silver Steed

Whenever you cast the find steed spell provided from the Circle of the Silver Hearts, you summon a celestial mount that has the statistical properties of a warhorse but is a unicorn none the less.

When you reach 3rd level as a druid, within 24 hours a unicorn appears to you and kneels in admiration of the vows you have taken. Within a few moments of this honorable and momentous occasion, the unicorn disappears in silver starlight. The next time you cast find steed from this class, the same unicorn appears to you and is your eternal, loyal companion.

Your unicorn companion acts on your turn and not independently, even though it is intelligent. Should you willingly break any of the Vows of the Silver Hearts, your unicorn companion immediately acts independently and will, regretfully, depart from your presence. If your disavowing of your oaths occurs during imminent dangers, your companion may help you out to avoid the the pain of seeing you injured, but will ultimately disappear forever. Casting the find steed spell after this reveals only a normal horse.
