Avoidance (Displacer Beast or Hybrid Form Only). If the nowherewolf is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.

Displacement (Displacer Beast or Hybrid Form Only). The nowherwolf projects a magical illusion that makes it appear to be standing near its actual location, causing attack rolls against it to have disadvantage. If it is hit by an attack, this trait is disrupted until the end of its next turn. This trait is also disrupted while the nowherewolf is incapacitated or has a speed of 0.

Shapechanger. The nowherewolf can use its action to polymorph into a displacer beast-humanoid hybrid or into Large displacer beast, or back into its true form, which is humanoid. Its statistics, other than its size and AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Actions

Multiattack. The nowherewolf makes two melee attacks.

Longsword (Humanoid or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage, or 9 (1d10 + 4) slashing damage if used in two hands.

Tentacles (Displacer Beast or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage plus 3 (1d6) piercing damage.

Nowherewolves are athletic and spry lycanthropes, always alert and seemingly on the balls of their feet, ready to spring into action. In their humanoid form they have deep black hair and an almost ethereal appearance, swaying slightly and out of focus even when perfectly still.

They undergo one of the most drastic lycanthropic transformations in their hybrid form, becoming more animalistic but more notably sprouting several long, barbed tentacles from their shoulder blades.

When confronted, nowherewolves will use every tool in their arsenal, taking on whichever form is most appropriate, though usually preferring their hybrid form.

Nowherewolves are fierce and hateful. They are prone to explosive fits of rage that often result in death. They lead solitary existences though often do not live in exile, instead choosing to terrorize towns or take leadership by force, going on to rule as tyrannical leaders.

Nowherewolf Lycanthropy

See page 207 of the Monster Manual for Player Characters as Lycanthropes.

The following information applies specifically to nowherewolf lycanthropy.

Nowherewolf. The character gains a Strength of 18 if his or her score isn't already higher, and a +1 bonus to AC while in displacer beast or hybrid form (from natural armour). Attack and damage rolls for the tentacles are based on Strength.
The character also gains the Avoidance and Displacement traits while in displacer beast or hybrid form.
