Half Races of Ravnica

Ravnica has always been known for its eclectic mixture of races. Thankfully they tend to get along perfectly fine amongst each other, with any substantial conflict sourcing from tension between guilds as opposed to races. Despite the diversity of life in this planar cityscape, humans are still within the majority of Ravnica's denizens. As such it it isn't too uncommon to find them mingling with other races and occasionally bringing a half-breed into the world. Below are the most common half human races you may find or become as you journey through this wonderous realm.

Though half breeds do have some of the versatility and adaptability of humans, they tend to follow their non-human parent's tendencies when selecting a guild and finding their role in society. Generally speaking they will be given tasks as if they were a full member of their non-human species, but some guild leaders recognize the unique talents they bring to the table and may give them slightly different tasks.

Half Minotaur

Half Minotaurs, usually called "taurin" in brief, are amongst the most diverse half breeds. Due to the drastic difference between their human and minotaur parents, taurin vary in their similarity to their more animalistic parent. Some appear to be full minotaurs but slightly smaller in stature, while others look almost just like humans, if you ignore the horns that is.

You may use the table below to randomly roll for the bovine traits your character or pick one as you like.

d100 Bovine Traits
1-20 Bull horns
21-50 Bull horns and ears
51-85 Bull horns, ears, and a tail
86-95 Bull horns, ears, a tail, and cloven legs
96-100 You look like a full minotaur but slightly smaller

Body hair varies regardless of what other bovine traits you have. For example, a tauren with only bull horns and ears can be covered in cow fur.

Half Dryad

Half dryads are fairly common, especially within the Selesnya Conclave. They are often a source of jealousy due to their powers and the freedom they have from not being tied down to one place like a full dryad. These human hybrids are typically beautiful like their fey parents with stunning green or hazel eyes. Due to them being half-human however, they also can be a bit more masculine in appearance than their dryad parent, esp if they have a human father. Their hair colors vary a lot more than humans sometimes having a green hue, vibrant red, or sometimes even a deep purple, depending on the type of tree the dryad parent belonged to.

All half dryads have at least one plant trait that differentiates themselves from humans visually. You may use the table below to randomly roll for a plant trait, pick one as you like, or just use it as inspiration for your own.
