Mixed Spellcasting
When you join this prestige class, you choose two classes that you have at least four levels in, one to be your Arcane class and one to be your Divine class. Your Arcane class must be Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard; your Divine class must be Cleric or Druid.*
For the purposes of Cantrips Known, Spells Known, Preparing Spells, and adding spells to a Spellbook, levels of Mystic Theurge count as levels in both your Arcane Class and your Divine Class. At 4th level, levels of Mystic Theurge and your Arcane Class and your Divine Class all count as levels in both your Arcane Class and your Divine Class for these purposes.
Levels of Mystic Theurge are counted at full toward your spell slots for multiclassed spellcasting.
Mystic Recovery
Beginning at 2nd level, when you finish a short rest, you can recover expended spell slots. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your total levels of this class, your Arcane Class, and your Divine Class. None of the spell slots can be of 6th level or higher.
Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Mystic Theurge
| Level | Features |
|---|---|
| 1st | Mixed Spellcasting |
| 2nd | Mystic Recovery |
| 3rd | Ability Score Increase |
| 4th | Spell Synthesis |
Ability Score Increase
When you reach 3rd level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Spell Synthesis
Starting at 4th level, you have learned to combine spells from your disparate disciplines. As an action, you can cast two spells at once, one from your Arcane class and one from your Divine class, each of which you must be able to cast as an action normally. Neither spell can be higher than 5th-level. You must expend spell slots for both spells.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to the greater of your Arcane or Divine spellcasting modifier. You regain expended uses after a short or long rest.
* Other Classes
At DM discretion, other classes may be allowed as prerequisites for this class, and used for Mixed Spellcasting. As a rule, they should be classes that add their full level to multiclass spellcasting. The DM decides whether a different class counts as Arcane or Divine for the purposes of this class.
