# Giant Trolls ## Lore Giant Trolls are hideous hill giant/troll crossbreeds. They resemble normal trolls in all respects, except for their unnatural size. They have reddish brown skin and red-rimmed eyes. Despite their pot-bellied appearance, Giant Trolls are very strong and inflict damage like their hill giant parent when using their weapon of choice - a large spiked club made from a tree trunk or a house timber. In the off chance you encounter one without a weapon, they are adept with their claws as well, and hit harder than normal trolls. Giant Trolls that are overwhelmed by many opponents will fling their stronger, tougher, opponents away from them so that they can focus on the softer, weaker, targets. Unlike trolls and their other close relatives, however, they never attack with their bite. This is due to the fact that their favored prey (humanoids of course!) is much smaller than them and they find it tough to bend forward with the normal freedom other trolls enjoy. Their head, more so than any other part of this monstrosity, is like a hill giant's. They lack the razor sharp teeth that inspire fear in many adventurers. Giant Trolls are also more resilient than normal trolls, as hard as it is to believe. They regenerate as quickly as normal trolls, but their regenerative factor is unaffected by acid, though they still share a common weakness to fire. They have a very acute sense of smell as well as darkvision, making them feared hunters across the land. They combine the horrid regeneration of a troll with the brutish strength of a hill giant, a deadly combination. Even worse though, they travel in bands of numbers usually ranging from 1-12, though there have been rare cases where more would band together. Their lairs are always attended by normal trolls, who act as servants and guardians (as well as food when the goings get rough!). Giant Trolls are found in nearly every clime.
