Variant: Zombie Butler

Some DMs strongly dislike spells which summon or create a massive amount of monsters. If you would prefer players be limited in how much they can summon, consider using this variant which creates one very strong ally, rather than multiple small allies.

Whenever you cast a spell which would summon or create multiple monsters, it instead summons a single monster. For each additional monster that would be summoned, your summon instead gains 2 additional hit dice. For every 4 hit dice gained in this way, your summon gains +1 to their Proficiency bonus (to a maximum of +6).
