### Otherworldly Patron: The Cosmic Guardian You have made a pact a cosmic guardian - some powerful and benevolent entity that travels the cosmos to protect life from the forces that seek to destroy it. Warlocks of this pact are called Magica, and are symbols of hope throughout the multiverse. Cosmic guardians tend to make pacts with individuals that share their ideals of compassion and hope, which is why they favor young adults or adolescents, who tend to be more compassionate and optimistic than anyone else. However, anyone who shows a kind heart has the potential to become a Magica. ##### Cosmic Guardian Expanded Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:----:|:-------------| | 1st | *color spray, zephyr strike*° | | 2nd | *lesser restoration, moonbeam* | | 3rd | *daylight, life transference°* | | 4th | *freedom of movement, Otiluke's resilient sphere* | | 5th | *dawn°, steel wind strike°* | °These spells appear in *Xanathar's Guide to Everything* #### Magica Transformation Starting at 1st level, you can call upon the magical powers of the cosmic guardian to undergo a transformation. As a bonus action, you transform into your Magica form, changing the appearance of your clothes, armor, and hair to assume an otherworldly beautiful and powerful appearance, and you gain the following benefits: * You add your Charisma modifier to Strength and Dexterity ability checks. * You gain temporary hit points at the start of each of your turns equal to your Charisma modifier. * Once on each of your turns, when you deal damage to a creature with an attack or spell, you can deal additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier. * You have advantage on Persuasion and Intimidation checks. This form lasts for 1 minute or until you fall unconscious or dismiss it (no action required), and when you use this feature you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Hopeful Presence At 6th level, you gain advantage on saving throws to resist being charmed or frightened. Additionally, your presence can fill your friends with hope. Allies within 30 feet of you that can see you, or are otherwise aware of your presence, have advantage on saving throws to resist being charmed or frightened as long as you are not unconscious, or charmed or frightened yourself. \columnbreak #### Extended Transformation At 10th level, your grow closer to your magical pact, allowing you to make further use of your Magica form. You can use Magica Transformation twice between rests now, and your form lasts for 10 minutes rather than 1. #### Improved Magica Form At 14th level, your Magica form becomes more powerful. While in your Magica form, you gain the following additional benefits: * You have advantage on all saving throws. * Your gain a flying speed of 60 feet.

Its statistics are the same in each form, except for the speed changes noted, and it loses immunity to the prone condition. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies. > > ***Magic resistance.*** The stargazer has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. > > ***Cosmic adaptation.*** The stargazer does not need to eat, breath, or sleep. > ### Actions > ***Bite.*** *Melee Weapon Attack:* +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage > > ***Innate Spellcasting (Psionics).*** The stargazer’s innate spellcasting modifier is Charisma (spell save DC 14). The stargazer can cast the following spells, requiring no components: > >At will: *prestidigitation* > >1/day each: *detect thoughts*, *comprehend languages*, *heroism* A stargazer is a small beholder-like creature that is closely related to gazers. Stargazers only have one central eye and no eyestalks, but they do have limited psionic power. They can assume the form of a variety of common beasts, but these forms often have some sort of unusual characteristics, such as an owl with magenta feathers or a cat with a two foot long tail. Stargazers prefer to assume a beast form when interacting with humanoids, as their true form might be too alien to appear friendly. \columnbreak

### New Eldritch Invocations Warlocks of the Cosmic Guardian have the following additional Eldritch Invocation options. #### Weapon of Hope *Prerequisite: Cosmic Guardian patron, Pact of the Blade feature* You can use your Charisma modifier, rather than Strength or Dexterity, for attack and damage rolls using your Pact weapon. In addition, as an action you can touch your pact weapon against a creature to end one effect causing the creature to be frightened. Finally, you can create your pact weapon when you transform into your Magica form (no action required). #### Book of Dreams *Prerequisite: Cosmic Guardian patron, Pact of the Tome feature* Choose one spell from the cleric spell list of 1st level or higher, and of a level no higher than the level for your warlock spell slots. You add that spell into your Book of Shadows, it counts as a warlock spell for you, and can cast it once using a warlock spell slot. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest. When you finish a long rest, you can replace the chosen cleric spell with a different one, following the same requirements for the spell. #### Unbounded Friendship *Prerequisite: Cosmic Guardian patron, Pact of the Chain feature* When you transform into your Magica form, your familiar gains any benefits that you gain from the form as long as it is within 60 feet of you. Your familiar loses these benefits when your form ends. #### Magical Swiftness *Prerequisite: Cosmic Guardian patron* While you are in your Magica form, you can Dash and Disengage as a bonus action on each of your turns. In addition, you have advantage on any Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check you make to escape from being grappled while in your Magica form.
