Oath of Lolth

The Oath of Lolth is a unique oath for drow that have devoted themselves to chaos and the search for power. The harsh laws and limited resources of the Underdark have lead these warriors to train like no other, committing to this life to improve their social standing, or perhaps to gain power needed to survive outside of drow culture.

Tenets of Loth

The tenets of the Oath of Loth hold chaos and ones own power above all.

Lolth is the Only True Deity. Worship of any other deity will hinder your path to true power.

Might Makes Right. The strong have proven themselves above others, and thus should govern the weak.

Never Stop Training. Only through constant training will you achieve the power necessary to overcome all obstacles.

Trust No Outsiders. Those outside of your trusted allies are often working against you. You must not be fooled by tricks, and strive to keep the upper hand.

Restriction: Drow Only

Only a drow can take the Oath of Lolth. The relationship between Lolth and Drow is one that is almost never achieved by other races. Your GM can lift this restriction to better fit your character or setting.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Trailing Darkness. As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity to wreath a creature you can see in darkness. The creatures space becomes filled with magical darkness that moves with the creature. No light can illuminate this darkness, and darkvision doesn't allow a creature to see through it, except for you.

The darkness lasts for one minute, or until the creature dies. The affected creature can use its action to make a Constitution saving throw, ending the effect early on a success.

Dark Charm. As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity go gain advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) and Charisma (Persuasion) checks for one minute.

Aura of Cognizance

Starting at 7th level, your magical sight spreads. You emanate an aura 10 feet around you. You and creatures of your choice within the aura can see through darkness, both magical and nonmagical, within the aura.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Exploit Weakness

Beginning at 15th level, you can strike at enemies when they are open and weak. Immediately after a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack with disadvantage against you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.

Champion of the Underdark

At 20th level, you can channel the power of a true champion of the Underdark. You can use your action to gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • You can see all creatures within 120 feet of you.
  • Creatures you can see have disadvantage on attacks against you.
  • You have advantage on saving throws against spells and effects from creatures you can see.

Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
