Path of the Prodigy

Maybe you were secretly born on a different plane, maybe you were bit by a magical spider, , maybe you're a regular person made superhuman by strange technology, maybe the energies of a legendary hero suffuse your being and enhance your strength.

Maybe you just punch really good.

Knockout Novice

At 3rd level, your unarmed attacks deal 1d6 bludgeoning damage, and you can do an unarmed attack as a bonus action. You can also grapple as a bonus action. When you enter your Rage, you gain an additional attack that turn.

Starting at 6th level, your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Grit of your Teeth

At 3rd level, when you take damage, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage by half your barbarian level rounded up. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your amount of Rages. You regain all uses after a long rest.

Special Technique

Starting at 6th level, when you grapple a creature, you can perform a mighty throw. While grappling a creature, you can use an action to throw them an amount of feet equal to your Strength modifier times 5. They land prone, if they land on a creature of their size or smaller, that creature must make a Strength save against your DC (8 + your proficiency modifier + your Strength modifier) or fall prone as well.

The distance is doubled thrown for each size smaller, and halved for each two sizes larger. When they land, they take damage equal to your Strength modifier, if you’re raging, you may add your Rage damage bonus to this damage.

If you throw a willing creature, they take half damage from the throw, and they can attack as a reaction as soon as they land, adding your Strength modifier and, if you're raging, your Rage damage bonus to the attack.

Special Technique Expanded

Name this feature yourself, making it your character’s own special technique.
Note for DMs: if you're not sure how far a larger creature should be thrown, calculate it as you would difficult terrain.

Golden Grappler

Starting at 10th level, you gain the following benefits to grappling:

  • You can grapple when performing an attack of opportunity, instead of doing a melee attack.
  • You can now move your full movement while grappling.

Larger than Life

Starting at 14th level, you stand as the epitome of raw strength. A paragon of power. A champion of conflict.
When you enter your rage, for the duration:

  • You count as one size larger, for the purposes of grappling, carrying capacity, and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
  • You add a d6 to all of your damage rolls.
  • You gain temporary HP equal to your Constitution modifier plus your barbarian level.
