### Volcanic Magic Your magic stems from the rumbling power of the volcanoes, whose fiery cores sparks your blazing magic. Perhaps you gained this magic by surviving a volcano's eruption, or are deeply connected to an ancient primordial being from the elemental Plane of Fire. No matter how you gained your magic, you act as nature's eternal forge, using your volcanic magic to decimate your foes. ##### Volcanic Origin Spells | Sorcerer Level | Spell | |:-:|:-| | 1st | *searing smite* | | 3rd | *magma burst* | | 5th | *fireball* | | 7th | *fire shield* | | 9th | *immolation* | | 11th | *investure of flame* |
> ##### Variant Feature: Origin Spells > You gain spells at the sorcerer levels noted in the Volcanic Origin Spells table. Once you gain an origin spell, you always know it, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you know. > > If you have an origin spell that doesn't appear on the sorcerer spell list, the spell is nonetheless a sorcerer spell for you.
#### Bonus Proficiencies At 1st level, you gain proficiency with simple melee weapons, martial melee weapons, and smith's tools. #### Volcanic Armoury Also starting at 1st level, you can create volcanic weapons that you fight with in battle. As a bonus action on your turn, you can reach into the ground and pull out a molten weapon, which appears in your hands as a simple or martial melee weapon of your choice. The molten weapon lasts until you dismiss it on your turn (no action required), it is further than 100 feet from you, or you create a new molten weapon, at which point it vanishes. As a bonus action while holding your molten weapon, you can have it become a different simple or martial melee weapon. The weapon is magical, and you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your sorcerer spells. When you attack a creature with your molten weapon, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier, which last until the start of your next turn. #### Obsidian Skin Finally, at 1st level, you're granted extra fortitude. While you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC is 10 + your Constitution modifier + your Charisma modifier, as your skin assumes a rough, stony appearance.

#### Combustion Starting at 6th level, you're able to strike out at those who would dare attack you. When a creature hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to move up to your speed directly towards that creature and make a single melee weapon attack against it. If the attack hits, you deal an additional 1d8 fire damage to the creature. If you make this attack with your molten weapon, it instead takes 1d12 fire damage. Additionally, when you hit a creature with this attack, you can spend up to 3 sorcery points. For each sorcery point you spend, you can push the creature up to 5 feet directly away from you. Finally, any damage dealt by this feature ignores resistance to fire damage, as you enforce your volcanic power upon your enemies. #### Flash Fire At 14th level, your body burns as the volcano does. You gain resistance to fire damage. Additionally, when you deal fire damage to a creature within 60 feet of you on your turn, you can spend 1 sorcery point to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of it, as you travel alongside the fire. #### Heart of the Volcano Starting at 18th level, you can spend 5 sorcery points as a bonus action to embrace the volcano. Your skin turns as hard as rock, and your blood boils as hot as lava. While in this form, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, and immunity to fire damage. Additionally, attacks you make with your molten weapon have advantage, and if you miss a creature you can see with an attack from your molten weapon, it still takes fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier. You remain in this form for 1 minute. It ends early if you die, or if you dismiss it on your turn (no action required). \columnbreak
### Additional Spell The following spell is an additional spell for the Volcanic Magic Sorcerer, and is part of their Origin Spells list. #### Magma Burst *2nd-level conjuration* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** 60 feet - **Components:** V, S - **Duration:** Concentration, up to 1 minute ___ You cause the ground to crack and lava to bubble forth in a 10-foot square you can see on the ground within range. Until the spell ends, the area of lava is difficult terrain. When a creature starts its turn in the area or enters the area for the first time on a turn, it must make a Constitution saving throw. It takes 3d4 fire damage immediately and again for every 5 feet it moves through the lava on a failed saving throw, or half as much damage on a successful one. Until the spell ends, you can use a bonus action on each of your turns to spread the lava across 1d4 + 1 connected 5-foot squares you can see on the ground, expanding the area. When the spell ends, the area returns to normal. ***At Higher Levels.*** When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3th level or higher, the spell's damage increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 2nd.
