Nihiloth
Born in 672, the Year of Grey Flowers, Virogir Illusathe rose to become a great wizard. As an original member of the Council of Velotha he was instrumental in defeating the great demonic invasion. Following the defeat of Gonnorath, Virogir's prowess led him to being selected as the first Scion of the South, one of four spellcasters entrusted with binding the demon. Virogir'ss vanity would not allow him to decline such an honor but he ultimately proved ill-suited to the required centuries of patience vigilence.
Darkness Calls. As the eons ticked by, the demon Gonnorath whispered to Virogir about the mysteries of the cosmos and the power of the far realms. The archwizard become the first apprentice of Gonnorath, taking a new name - Nihiloth. He learned to command the dark eldritch powers granted to him by The Lord of Change to bolster his already vast arcane abilities.
Fallen and Bound. After his corruption had become apparent, the other scions bound him - with extreme difficulty - beneath his old tower under what would become the human city of Stromberg. After hundreds of years bound alone in his prison, Nihiloth has, somewhat impressively, managed to maintain the majority of his sanity.
The Mad Mage. Unlike other highly intelligent beings, Nihiloth is not a calculating planner. Instead, he acts on impulse born out countless centuries pondering the endless mechanisms of reality. Released from his prison, he is a being of decisive, if sometimes careless, action. He is still motivated primarily by power and pride though the concepts have become largely theoretical to him.
Relic of the Past. Above all, Nihiloth desires what was denied to him for so long - freedom. He is just as likely to parlay with his rescuers as he is to kill them outright. Wholly unpredictable, he is a force of nature unleashed upon the world, a torrent of arcane energy without direction.
In his true form, Nihiloth is a moldering skeleton wrapped in mummefied flesh and the vestigages of his Scion garb. However, his vanity ensures that, once freed, he will immediately take the form of a lithe Elven man with silver hair and immaculate, if dated, clothing.
