Revised Kobold

Kobold Traits

Your kobold character has the following traits, which they share with others of their kind.

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity and Intelligence both increase by 2.

Age. Kobolds reach adulthood at age 6 and can live up to 120 years, but rarely do so.

Alignment. Kobolds are fundamentally selfish, making them evil, but their reliance on the strength of their group makes them trend towards law.

Size. Kobolds are between 2 and 3 feet tall and weigh between 25 and 35 pounds on average. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Superior Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 120 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Burrower. You have a burrow speed of 15 feet through non-rocky soil. This speed is increased to 20 feet if you have a pick axe or shovel.

Kobold Stealth. You can take the Hide action as a bonus action. Additionally, you have proficiency in the Stealth skill.

Sunlight Sensitivity. You have disadvantage on attack rolls and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

Languages. You can read, write, and speak Common and Draconic.

Racial Feats

Kobold Quickness

Prerequisite: Kobold

Your time living in caves has made you more nimble and harder to catch and find. You gain the following benefits.

  • You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than you.
  • You may take the Dash action as a bonus action.

Scaleborn

Prerequisite: Kobold

Whether as a blessing granted to you at birth, or some dormant part of your heritage, you have dragons blood within you. You gain the following benefits.

  • Your Charisma is increased by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You learn one cantrip from the Sorcerer spell list, Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this cantrip.
  • Choose one damage type: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison, you have resistance to the chosen damage type.

Trapper

Prerequisite: Kobold

Kobolds are known for their mastery of traps to protect their homes, and you are no exception. You gain the following benefits.

  • Your Intelligence is increased by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You gain proficiency with thieves' tools and the Sleight of Hand skill.
  • Whenever you make and/or place a trap, the DC to escape or avoid the trap is instead 8 + your Proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier. If the trap makes an attack roll, its bonus to attack is your Intelligence modifier + your Proficiency bonus.

Urd Wings

Prerequisite: Kobold

You sprout leathery, almost dragon-like wings, granting you a flying speed of 25 feet. To use this speed, you can't be wearing medium or heavy armor.

Feats

Hidden Attacker

You have perfected the art of weaving in and out of shadows during intense moments to gain the upper hand in combat. You gain the following benefits.

  • You increase your Dexterity by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill if you don't already have it.
  • Whenever you hit a creature you have successfully hidden from or have surprised with a weapon attack, you may deal additional damage of the weapons type equal to your Proficiency Bonus + the attacks damage modifier.
