Oath of Iron

Those who take up the Oath of Iron are often known as Iron Inquisitors or Templars, depending on the setting. They hunt down magic users to make them answer for their crimes - both real and perceived.

Tenets of Iron

  • Iron against Chaos: I will be a bastion against heretical magics, for they sow only chaos.
  • Seek the Truth: I will seek answers, pouncing on my prey once given adequate information.
  • Compassionate Justice: I will show compassion for the innocent, but ultimately nothing will stand in the way of justice.

Mind Smite

Beginning at 3rd level when you choose this Oath, your holy magic becomes the bane of spellcasters.

You may choose to have your Divine Smite and Improved Divine Smite features deal psychic damage instead of radiant.

Channel Divinity

When you take this Oath at 3rd level, you gain the following options.

Spell Sunder: As a reaction to a creature casting a spell, you may move up to your speed and make one melee weapon attack against that creature. If it hits, the creature must make a Concentration Saving Throw against your Paladin Save DC with disadvantage. On a failure, the spell fails, along with any spells the creature was concentrating on.

Eldritch Barrier: You may bless yourself and allied creatures with an eldritch ward. As an action, each creature of your choice you can see within 30 feet gains temporary hitpoints equal to 1d6 + your Charisma modifer.























Aura of Warding

Beginning at 7th level, you exude a magic unwravelling aura, weakening spells in the area.

You and friendly creatures within 10 feet have resistance to damage from spells.

At 18th level the range increases to 30 feet.

Unyielding Sentinel

Beginning at 15th level, you are immune to the Charmed condition and are always under the effects of Detect Magic with a range of 5 feet.

Templar's Essence

At 20th level you can become an avatar of anti-magic.

As an Action, you may gain the following effects for 1 minute.

  • You may use your Spell Sunder Channel Divinity feature at will without expending a use of it.
  • Your speed increases by 10 feet.
  • You have advantage on saving throws against spells.
  • Unyielding Sentinel's range increases to 30 ft.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
