The Arcanist
Your patron is an being that can wield powerful arcane magic with a flick of their wrist. In return for the power they grant you, you wander the world seeking lore that you can share with your patron.
Your patron could be any deity or other powerful entity dedicated to the pursuit of magic and knowledge. Many warlocks forge pacts with powerful archmages or liches, who are eager to have students out gathering information for them while they continue their own research. Your patron could also be a powerful arcanaloth, nagpa, or sphinx, who you serve in return for a portion of their power.
Expanded Spell List
The Arcanist lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Arcanist Expanded Spells
| Spell Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | barrier, magic missile |
| 2nd | blur, phantasmal force |
| 3rd | lightning bolt, nondetection |
| 4th | arcane eye, greater invisibility |
| 5th | bigby's hand, legend lore |
Arcane Aptitude
At 1st level, your patron has blessed you with a portion of their magic, allowing you to wield basic arcane power. You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill, and you gain two cantrips of your choice from the wizard spell list. For you, these cantrips count as warlock cantrips. You learn one additional cantrip from the wizard spell list at 6th level, and again at 10th and 14th level.
Spell Surge
Also at 1st level, you can unleash a barrage of destructive arcane power. As an action on your turn, you can cast up to two different cantrips. These cantrips must be cantrips gained from the Arcane Aptitude feature, and must have a casting time of 1 action or bonus action, and they can be cast in any order.
Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
Focused Thought
At 6th level, your magic sharpens your mind and empowers your spells. While you maintain concentration on a spell, you gain a bonus to any Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw you make. This bonus is equal to a d4. Furthermore, when you cast a cantrip granted to you by Arcane Aptitude, you can add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll.
Advanced Arcana
At 10th level, you know how to get the most out of your spells. Whenever you cast a warlock spell that doesn't benefit from being cast using a spell slot of a higher level, you gain 1d8 temporary hit points for each level the spell is cast above the spell's lowest level.
Additionally, your mind is able to maintain focus, even in dire situations. When you fail a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on a spell, you can turn that failure into a success. Once you maintain concentration on a spell this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Realm Warp
At 14th level, you can reach through the weave and tug at the strands of magic that hold the multiverse together, allowing you to slip between realities. As an action, you can open a portal in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of you and choose one of the following effects.
Transport. You and up to 5 willing creatures that you can see are pulled into the portal, which closes after you are all pulled in. A second portal opens at a point of your choice within 100 miles that you have visited in the past 48 hours, depositing you and your chosen allies there.
Demiplane. The portal leads to a demiplane, which resembles a library, although the details and layout of the demiplane is up to you. The demiplane is large enough to comfortably accommodate the number of texts it holds, and will grow as texts are added. This portal remains open for 8 hours, after which time it closes. Any creature still inside the demiplane when the portal closes are ejected into the nearest unoccupied space.

The library contains a copy of every non-magical text (books, scrolls, letters, etc.) you have ever read, and while inside the library, you know all of its contents, as well as the exact location of each text. Any new text you read after gaining this feature is added to the library as well. Texts in the library are immune to all damage, and can't be broken, harmed, or damaged in any way. Any text removed from the library turns to smoke, and immediately re-appears in its space in the library.
Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Eldritch Invocations
At 2nd level, a warlock gains the Eldritch Invocations feature. Here are new options for that feature, in addition to the options in the Player's Handbook, that are designed for the Arcanist patron.
If an eldritch invocation has a prerequisite, you must meet it to learn the invocation. You can learn the invocation at the same time you meet its prerequisite. A level prerequisite refers to your level in this class.
Arcanist's Speech
Prerequisite: The Arcanist Patron
Your quest for knowledge allows you to master any language. When you complete a long rest, you can pick three languages. You gain the ability to speak, read, and write the chosen languages until you finish your next long rest.
Battle Surge
Prerequisite: The Arcanist Patron, Pact of the Blade feature
When you use your Spell Surge feature, you can make a single weapon attack as a bonus action. This attack has advantage, and on a hit, you deal additional force damage equal to your Charisma modifier + half your warlock level.
Ritualist's Tome
Prerequisite: The Arcanist Patron, the Book of Ancient Secrets invocation, Pact of the Tome feature
The gold required to copy a ritual spell on the wizard spell list into your Book of Shadows is halved. Additionally, casting a spell from your Book of Shadows that's on the wizard spell list as a ritual spell only takes you an additional minute, rather ten minutes. You also don't require material components for ritual spells you cast from your Book of Shadows. Finally, you can cast any ritual spell inscribed in your Book of Shadows without expending a spell slot. Once you do so, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Scroll Master
Prerequisite: The Arcanist Patron
You don't need access to a class' spell list to make use of spell scrolls, and use Charisma as your spellcasting ability for any spell you cast for a scroll, regardless of the class the spell is from.
