Circle of Purity

By Morgan's Brews (Tumblr)

The Circle of Purity attracts druids who are disillusioned with modern magic and science. They believe that any arcane magic or artifice that would disrupt the natural order is a crime, and that it is their duty to put a stop to it. Druidic magic is natural and draws directly from life itself, so these druids consider it the only "true form" of magic.

Circle of Purity Features
Druid Level Feature
2nd Protection of Nature
6th Arcane Sense
10th Null Mantle
14th Sanctify

Circle Spells

Your devotion to upholding the natural magics grants you access to certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level, you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Purity Spells table.

Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Druid Level Spells
3rd hold person, silence
5th counterspell, dispel magic
7th banishment, otiluke's resilient sphere
9th dispel good and evil, synaptic static

Protection of Nature

Using nature itself as a barrier, you have learned to repel attacks and spells.

When you or an ally within 30 feet is hit by an attack or forced to make a saving throw against a spell, you can use your reaction to bolster their defenses. If they were hit by an attack, add your proficiency bonus to their AC until the end of the current round, including against the triggering attack. If they were forced to make a saving throw against a spell, they get a bonus to that saving throw equal to your proficiency bonus.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Arcane Sense

At 6th level, you gain the ability to sense even the most minute magical presence. Whenever a spell is cast targeting you, a creature you can see, or an object on your person, you are alerted mentally. You know the general distance and direction of the caster (but not their exact location), and the school of magic that was cast.

In addition, you can cast Detect Magic without expending a spell slot. You regain use of this ability when you finish a short or long rest.

Null Mantle

At 10th level, you learn how to bestow a person with a blessing that disrupts the flow of arcane magic. As an action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to bestow this blessing to you or an ally within 30 feet. The target gains 4 temporary hit points for every druid level you have. While this feature is active, the target gains the following benefits:

  • The target's walking speed can not be reduced, nor can the target be paralyzed or restrained.
  • Any allied creatures within 30 feet of the target have advantage on saving throws against spells.
  • Any hostile creature within 30 feet of the target have disadvantage on saving throws they make to maintain concentration on their spells.

These benefits last for 10 minutes, until the target loses all these temporary hit points, until you lose consciousness or until you use either Wild Shape feature again.

Sanctify

At 14th level, you can eliminate all magical presence in an area for a short time. You can cast Antimagic Field once at 7th level without expending a spell slot. You regain use of this ability when you finish a long rest.

In addition, you have advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

At 15th level, Antimagic Field is always prepared for you, and does not count against the number of spells you can prepare.
