Foxfolk and Kitsune

By @homebrewlesbian

These vulpine-like humanoids are two races with separate origins but highly similar biology. Kitsune are the blessed of a god, ancient bloodlines of worshipers who were rewarded for their piety. Foxfolk are cunning tricksters, hailing from the feywild, with sharp tongues and teeth.

Kitsune

Chosen of Huoka

Kitsune find their origins as mere humans, those that worshiped the goddess of fire and passion in Kusanagi's era of divinity.

The most pious families of worshipers were blessed by the benevolent goddess, gaining traits of one of her sacred beasts: the fox.

Nine-Tailed

Kitsune are primarily human in appearance, however they tend to have sharp teeth, vulpine eyes, and elongated fur covered ears.

A defining trait of Kitsune is their fox tail, and it's capacity to morph. Kitsune can have up to nine tails. The more tails one has, the older or more stronger they are.

Kitsune Tails

At the discretion of your DM, you can flavor gaining tails in different ways. Some ideas are

  • As they age
  • As they gain favor with their god/patron (cleric, paladin, or warlock)
  • The maximum level of their spell slots if they are a spellcaster
