PF 1e - Dragonborn

Physical Description:

Dragonborn are tall, well-built, scaly humanoids, and they come in as wide a variety of colors as true dragons do.

Society:

Dragonborn society is rigid and hierarchical, with an emphasis on both respecting their draconic heritage and conveying to outsiders the difference between these humanoids and their mighty progenitors. Groups of dragonborn will often form clans, especially with those of similar color.

Relations:

Dragonborn tend to get along best with other races that prioritize tradition and honor, like dwarves. They generally interact well with anyone willing to adopt their culture.

Alignment and Religion:

For most dragonborn, integrity is one of their most important virtues; the race as a whole tends to place a lot of value on oaths and promises, so many dragonborn end up lawful. However, just like their draconic ancestors, dragonborn come in all alignments.

Adventurers:

Many younger dragonborn choose to travel the world in order to bring honor to their clan, striving to become individuals of great worth and carry out impressive deeds for their families.

Standard Racial Traits

  • Ability Score Racial Traits: +2 Constitution, +2 Charisma, -2 Dexterity. Dragonborn are tough and proud, but lack grace.
  • Type: Dragonborn are humanoid creatures with both the human and reptilian subtypes.
  • Size: Dragonborn are Medium creatures and thus receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Base Speed: Dragonborn have a base speed of 30 feet.
  • Languages: Dragonborn begin play speaking Common and Draconic. Dragonborn with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic). See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages.

Defense Racial Traits

  • Draconic Resistances: Dragonborn gain an innate +4 bonus against sleep and paralysis effects.
  • Natural Armor: Dragonborn have tough scales that grant them a +2 natural armor bonus to AC.
