Mysterious Order

The Mysterious Order of monks arm themselves with illusions and personalized technology in order to defeat foes that might be otherwise beyond their own martial skill. The use of technology in innovative ways borders on the magical, often overwhelming foes.

Holographics

Beginning when you choose this order at 3rd level, you learn the minor hologram tech power and gain proficiency with your choice of either Intelligence (Technology) or Charisma (Deception) checks.

Powered Enhanced Arms

At 3rd level, you make use of a personalized technological device to create arms which mount on your shoulders, or hover near them. The arms can be made from invisible deflector shields, mechanical servos and metal, or even by blasting sonic waves from shoulder cannons.

On your turn you can spend 2 focus points as a bonus action to create or power up the arms for 10 minutes. When you do, your hologram projectors cause the arms to have the appearance you like.

While your arms are active, you gain the following benefits:

  • You can use your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (your choice) in place of your Strength modifier when making Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • The arms are monk weapons which you are proficient with and have a reach of 10 feet. The arms deal kinetic or sonic damage (your choice). When you attack with the arms, you can use your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (your choice) instead of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls.
  • Immediately after you use the Attack action with your arms on your turn, you can make one extra attack with your arms as a bonus action. The number of extra attacks increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to two at 11th level and three at 17th level.

Holographic Visual System

Starting at 6th level, your personalized device generates a holographically enhanced visual system. On your turn, you can spend 1 focus point as a bonus action, or as part of creating your enhanced arms, to activate this visual system for 10 minutes. The visual system covers your face or eyes like a helmet or mask, and you determine its appearance.

While your visual system is active, you gain the following benefits:

Character Analysis. You have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Charisma (Deception) checks.

Vision Enhancers. You can see normally in darkness, including enhanced darkness, to a distance of 120 feet.

Integrated Systems

Starting at 11th level, your familiarity with your combined systems enables new techniques to find weaknesses in your own defense and the defenses of others. While you have both your enhanced arms and your visual system active, you gain the following benefits:

Improved Deflection When you take acid, cold, fire, lightning, or sonic damage, you can use your reaction to deflect it. When you do so, the damage you take is reduced by 1d10 + your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (your choice) + your monk level.

Exploit Weak Point. Once on each of your turns when you hit a target with your enhanced arms, you can deal extra damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die.

Audio Projection. Your visual system can capture and amplify your voice or make it omnidirectional. You can amplify your voice so that all creatures within 600 feet can hear you. Alternatively, you can choose a creature within 30 feet and speak so that only it can hear you.

Body Protecting Holoscreen

Starting at 17th level, your personalized technological device covers the rest of your form. On your turn, you can spend 10 focus points as a bonus action to activate the enhanced arms, visual system, and protective holoscreen of your device. The device covers your physical form like a suit of armor, connecting with the other active components. You determine the appearance as displayed by the hologram projectors.

While your device is fully active in this way, you gain the following benefits:

Protective Interface. You gain a +2 bonus to AC while you aren't incapacitated.

Barrage. Whenever you use the Extra Attack feature to attack twice, you can instead attack three times using your enhanced arms.

Renewable Focus. When a creature within 10 feet of you is reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to regain focus points equal to your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (your choice, minimum 1).


Changes:
  • Altered 6th level feature to affect Deception instead of Intimidation checks.
  • Added a 3rd level feature to grant the minor hologram tech power.
  • Adjusted the 5 damage types which can be deflected by the 11th level feature to be better suited for SW5e.
  • Changed the order of the text a bit in the last trait of the 11th level feature (purely text alteration not mechanically different).
