Special Weapons
Weapons with special rules are described here.
Bola. A Large or smaller creature hit by a bola is knocked prone until it is freed. A creature can use its action to free itself or another creature within its reach. Dealing 5 slashing damage to the bola (AC 10) also frees the creature without harming it,
ending the effect and destroying the bola.
Boomerang. After a ranged attack you make with a boomerang misses, it returns to your space at the
end of your turn.
Garotte Wire. As a bonus action while wielding this weapon, you can attempt to grapple a creature using the wire rather than a free hand.
Katana. When using Dexterity for the attack and damage rolls of this weapon, it deals piercing damage.
Rapier. When you make an attack with a rapier on your turn, you can increase your reach with it by 5 feet. You don't add your ability modifier to the damage roll of an attack made in this way, unless that modifier is negative.
Cultural Fighting Styles
The following fighting styles have been invented by the people in the world of Shians.
Chain Fighting. As a reaction to a creature attacking you with a melee weapon, you can attempt to disarm it, forcing it to drop the weapon it used to attack. You must succeed on a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to interrupt the attack. You must be wielding a chain & sickle, flail, garotte wire, heavy chain, light chain or whip.
Dual Weapon Fighting. When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you make the additional attack as part of the Attack action, instead of a bonus action. If you can attack more than once, you can use this feature on each attack. You can't make a weapon attack as part of a bonus action on the same turn you engage in two-weapon fighting.
Exotic Fighting. You gain proficiency with 1 exotic weapon.
Safosan Dancing. You can engage in two-weapon fighting while wielding 2 javelins, quarterstaffs, spears, tridents or whips. Additionally, while you are holding two weapons and not wielding a shield, you gain a +2 bonus to your AC.
