The Radiant Storm

There is always sunshine after the storm, but sometimes you find light within.

The violent chaos rages in the sky. Lightning flashes and the dull roar of thunder drowns out every thought in your mind. You should seek shelter, but an unseen force beguiles you, it beckons you to come. Pandemonium strikes as the feeble flora is uprooted and thrown around as its plaything, but you stand firm, you are watching. The storm has judged you worthy of its gifts. You watch in awe as the eye of the storm moves overhead, the massive circle of clouds surrounding you, raining its judgment on the landscape beyond.

Yet you feel safe, you watch the clear blue sky beyond the wall of clouds, you feel the warm sunlight on your skin as if dawn has come twice. You watch in amazement as something, no someone is descending. You’ve heard the stories but doubted, you saw the destruction but questioned, but now you know. The Angel of the Storm is right in front of you, a blazing figure with wings of light. You feel the urge to bow your head, to grovel before the splendor right in front of you, to avert your eyes. You want to do anything just to show respect but, you stand tall and proud as you make your pact with the Angel of the Storms.

The Radiant Storm lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Bonus Cantrips

At 1st level, you learn the shocking grasp and sacred flame cantrips. They count as warlock cantrips for you, but they don't count against your number of cantrips known.

Storm Armor

At 1st level, when a hostile creature you can see within 30 feet deals damage to you or an ally you can see, you can use your reaction to lash out with the fury of the storm. The attacking creature must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes lightning damage equal to 2d6 + your warlock level, or half as much damage on a successful one. Additionally, you gain temporary hit points equal to the lightning damage dealt.

Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Lightning Surge

Starting at 6th level, you can cloak yourself with lightning for a brief moment. As an action, your movement speed increases by 30ft. until end of turn and you can move up to your speed in a straight line and through enemy spaces, without provoking opportunity attacks. Each creature in that line must make a Dexterity saving throw and takes 1d8 lightning damage and 1d8 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Tempest

Starting at 10th level, the storm becomes a part of you and lightning pumps through your veins. You gain resistance to lightning, radiant and thunder damage. Additionally whenever you roll initiative, until the end of your next turn, you can't be surprised, other creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls against you, and you have advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws.

Sword of the Storm

Starting at 14th level you can summon your patrons’ weapon to aid you in battle. As an action, a giant bright lightning sword crashes down through the sky, piercing the ground at a point of your choice within 100 feet. Each creature in a 1000-foot-tall cylinder with a 40-foot radius centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 6d6 lightning damage and 6d6 thunder damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
