### Path of Pain Most warriors dislike pain. They train themselves not to get hit, and consider pain a sign of faliure. Barbarians who walk the Path of Pain are different - they know pain can be an ally, something that activates their adrenaline and helps them focus. Instead of training to avoid pain, they train their bodies to withstand it, for they know that more blows they can receive, the stronger they can become. #### Masochist Starting at 3rd level, the pain you feel makes you stronger. When you take damage while raging you gain a pain dice, which is a d4. You can have up to 3 pain dice at any one time. When you hit with a weapon attack, you can choose to expend a number of your pain dice up to your maximum and add them to the damage roll of the attack. Any pain dice you have when your rage ends are lost. Additionally, you can target yourself with your own attacks. When do you so, you automatically hit. #### Come on, Hit Me! Beginning at 6th level, you can goad people into attacking you. As a bonus action, you can make a Charisma (Intimidation) or a Charisma (Persuasion) check contested by a creature's Wisdom (Insight) check. The creature must be able to hear you, and the two of you must share a language. The creature becomes hostile to you if it wasn't already, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than you until the start of your next turn. \columnbreak #### Improved Masochist At 6th level, your pain dice become d6s. They become d8s at level 10, and d10s at level 14. #### Block it Out Beginning at 10th level, you can use the adrenaline you feel when you take hits to numb the pain of those hits. As a bonus action, you can expend a number of pain dice up to your maximum (minimum of 1) and roll them, gaining a number of temporary hit points equal to the amount rolled + your Constitution modifier. Any temporary hit points you have from this feature are lost when your rage ends. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Clap Back Beginning at level 14, immediately after you successfully use your Relentless Rage trait, you can use your reaction to make one weapon attack. If the attack hits, it is a critical hit. ___ > ## Credits > * Path of Pain by [/u/Enraric](https://www.reddit.com/user/enraric) > * Berserker art by Brent Elliot White (album art for Amon Amarth's *Berserker*) >___
