### College of Angst Bards of the College of Angst are discontented with the cheerful merriment associated with most other bards. They are are outcasts and rebels who call upon their inner turmoil to power their melodies. People who listen to these bards' performances feel the rage welling up within their hearts and are shaken to their core. Members of this college typically wear a combination of bright and dark-colored clothing to symbolize their defiance toward tradition. Their appearance can be off-putting to some but many of these bards have been known to be more friendly than they appear on the outside. #### Song of Rage When you join the College of Angst at 3rd level, you gain the ability to channel your negative emotions into your music. As a bonus action, you can expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration to perform a song of rage. When you do so, you gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing heavy armor: * You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. * When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll. This bonus damage increases to +3 and 8th level, and +4 at 14th level. * You gain temporary hit points equal to 1d6 + your bard level. The die you roll to gain temporary hit points increases whenever your Bardic Inspiration die changes. You cannot cast spells higher than first level while performing your song of rage nor can you concentrate on them. If you are concentrating on a spell before you perform a song of rage, it immediately ends. Your song of rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your song of rage on your turn as a bonus action. #### Battle Ready Also at 3rd level, you have sufficiently trained yourself to fight your opponents head on. You gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons. Your musical instruments can be used as improvised weapons and you also have proficiency with them. #### Astonishing Performance Starting at 6th level, whenever you perform a song of rage, you can inspire or frighten your audience. Choose a number of creatures within 60 feet of you equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one) and choose whether you inspire or frighten them. * ***Inspire.*** These creatures gain temporary hit points equal to the number you roll on your Bardic Inspiration die. * ***Frighten.*** These creatures must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be frightened of you until the end of its next turn For each creature you successfully inspire or frighten, you gain another temporary hit point, to a maximum of 5 additional temporary hit points. \columnbreak
#### Master of Rage At 14th level, you have learned how to fully utilize your rage. Whenever a creature you can see within 60 feet of you makes a saving throw against a spell, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration and give it disadvantage on the roll. If it fails the save, you can roll your Bardic Inspiration die and cause it to take additional psychic damage equal to the number rolled. A creature is immune to this effect if it cannot hear you.
